"I believe this will be the last game we play against them for several years," Toledo said. "I don't believe it's fair for our fans to always go to Baton Rouge. We have a big-time stadium (Superdome) that they could come and play in and bring their fans."

Surely he can be serious and understands dollars and cents, but maybe not.

and he is correct. 2 in BR one in NO is more than fair for all.

Agreed. I like tradition, and Tulane is a traditional rival, but the rivalry is long dead, and it's time to let this one just go by the boards. The game has little significance anymore. It's just another game, and neither school really wants this series to continue, so the ADs need to negotiate a way out that both schools can live with.

If the money is right, a neutral site game against an opponent like UNC might be just what we need.

Likewise, playing aTm or even Baylor in Houston wouldn't be horrible. Houston would give us a better recruiting exposure, but the UNC deal, should it come to fruition, will be better overall.

As LSU alum and a current Tulane stadium this is bullshite.

LSU came to NO and pulled Tulane's home attendance above NCAA minimum while writing a big arse check to keep their athletic department afloat.

The least they should do is finish out this contract even if they have to play every game in BR

Aleva has already said that he wants to review the contract with Tulane.

This is payback from Skip to his money men in N. O., plain and simple. It has never made sense for LSU, but it hade essentially kept Tulane's athletic program afloat.

If they lose this game, division 3 or whatever it is, here they come.

Title 9 is a bitch.

Slight issue with what your saying... the contract is for home/home LSU is the one wanting to change the terms of the contract if I read the article correctly....

I always thought that LSU was making a lot of money off of this, because even though we gave Tulane alot of money to come to Baton Rouge, in the years that LSU went to New Orleans we made more money than we could at any other road game. So on the schedule we had a road game listed, but we made a lot more money than your normal road game.

True, it would be fair. That doesn't change the fact that it wouldn't be in the best interest of LSU.

Yes we want to get out of having to go to NOLA every other year.

1) It makes scheduling other non-conference games a pain since we have to get our road trip on a year when Tulane is coming to BR and then bring them in while Tulane is away.

2) We lose revenue every time we go down there

My point was that the least Tulane should do is come to BR until the contract is over since LSU pulled their bacon out of the fire in multiple ways

Which is still noticeably less than what we make on a home game.

Making Tulane come to BR just like other in-state schools is the most profitable.

I don't mind traveling to a non-conference road game when the other team actually boosts our SoS instead of weighing it down.

I think what he was saying was a neutral site game vs Baylor in Houston to help recruiting.

We played ULM in 2003, but haven't played them since.

Have they considered carpooling?
