People on the internet feel powerful when they call others idiots, whether it's warranted or not, and they pretty much never apologize. They pretend they never said anything.
I certainly never expected to get Wade back, especially that soon, but I've been surprised enough times in my life to not make a fool of myself, insisting that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt what is or isn't going to happen, and calling people names in the process.

In lieu of an apology I’d ask that the posters who were so mean to me at least reflect on how much they could be missing out on opportunities in their own personal and professional lives due to their self-imposed limitations

That thread you linked was six months before LSU hired the president and AD away from McNeese and a full year before Wade was rehired. Considering when that thread was started, the responses it got were warranted. Showing it off now as some sort of receipt is pretty weak.

However, in my defense, at this period of time the threads about this pipedream were absolutely over the top. A lot of people (myself included) were tired of hearing about it
