You just might know my BIL. He works as the U. of Fla. lawyer, but is the biggest LSU fan. John A. is his name.

I know several people there: I'll look him up.

I just went grocery shopping. Stores, gas stations, restaurants are open. Traffic is light, but sun was shining for awhile. Post Office is delivering mail.

The clerks and bag boys and manager were joking about how most games are being played, but they are glad UF/LSU was canceled "because the team needs the rest instead of a loss." That is anecdotal, but almost certainly the view of most fans.

It's not even raining in Gainesville, though the wind reminds me of a typical day in Oklahoma.

Downvotes must be from lurkers though.

Shouldn't you be out picking up the pieces with the state of emergency in Gainesville?

So would LSU host a game with a CAT 4 Storm potentially making landfall around the Houma area say 80 miles away?

Poor analogy. First a hurricane hitting Houma would put BR on the north side; better than East but nowhere the same as the West. Second this storm never touched land. Third, we wouldn't have cancelled.

It's more appropriate to wonder if LSU would hold a game if a storm came moderately close to Bay St Louis the day prior.

eta: Answer is yes, we'd play.

10% chance of rain tomorrow. Equivalent to UF's chances of winning if they had the balls to play the game.

This was known as of Tuesday.

I have 6-7 friends on FB that live in Jort Vegas and all still have power and very minimal impacts. A few tree limbs and leaves, palms, etc.. but some stores are open. It'll be back to a normal Saturday tomorrow morning.

They are not giving up their bye week. It's just now scheduled for this week.

A leaf blew off a tree and got lodged into an outside AC unit. The unit is still on being the electricity never went off. It's making a slight flapping noise, which can be quite irritating. They're waiting for the 17 mile per hour winds to die down before attempting to dislodge it.

Can you send that yard guy to Houston ? :) They charged $200 for a YARD after Ike, not close to couple of acres :).

Apparently Miami had no problems.

Because Miami and Gainesville are so close together...I bet the storm effects were the exact same.
