opinion on what?
whether or not LSU’s standing as a big cat Sanctuary is worth a couple minutes in a small arse cage?

Can you imagine how much of a complete moron he will come off to some random educated people? They will probably laugh at him over coffee for weeks.

Funny that zoos can parade thousands of people per day past tigers in a cage, Mike can be viewed all day on gameday, but ten minutes in the stadium is cruelty.

You’re a fricking moron

Guys let’s just get another opinion then go from there. It’s that simple. If it is not good then we don’t push it.

again, opinion on what?

if it’s possible the current Mike might like the cage?

that’s not even remotely close to the only reason LSU doesn’t do it anymore.

A. as said many times, our status as a Big Cat sanctuary would be at risk if we do it.

B. LSU likes that hundreds of thousands of people on campus can see the actual tiger in his habitat, instead of a couple thousand at best being able to see anything other than a cage (you can’t see the Tiger from a distance).

so even if Florida Man says “sure you can”, that doesn’t change anything.

As someone mentioned earlier, we’re devolving instead of evolving. A great tradition taken away because of ridiculous claims. Yeah I’ll say it. Texas, Colorado, Florida St, Auburn, USC, Oklahoma, UGA, and everyone else can keep their traditions with their animals entertaining thousands of people, but LSU can’t. It was fine before. It’s still fine at other schools. If the concern is fireworks, get rid of the fireworks. If it’s noise from the crowd, put him in a soundproof enclosure. Problem is, people or groups that have no business speaking for how the majority thinks are having their way. You know these people. Statues are offensive. Male athletes can win 1st place in women’s events. Border protection are important for other countries, not ours. How bout this, I’m sure 99% of Americans were not offended with the pretty little Indian girl on “Land O Lakes” butter, but she’s no longer there because some how it was offensive. Kudos to Florida St for not caving in to name change. The Seminole Indians love it. Get this, [The Washington Commanders are being sued by The Native American Guardians Association, which has been trying to get the Commanders to change the name back to Redskins.
The lawsuit states:
“The logo on the Redskin’s helmet is an actual person, it’s Chief White Calf. Every time they go out on that field, they were honoring Chief White Calf and they were battling on the football field with the same honor and integrity and courage. They should continue to honor that.”]. My point again, people or groups making wrong decisions for the majority shouldn’t have their way. What’s right at Colorado should also be right at LSU. What’s right at FSU should also be right at Washington DC.

Unless Mike is transported in the following container, we lose accreditation.

It’s that simple.

Cows, Horses, Dogs, Chickens, hell even American Bison and Golden Eagles are not endangered species.

there are hundreds of thousands of each of those animals in the US alone.

there are less than 5,000 Tigers.

I will go back to this.
He may like it he is right next to the stadium anyways. If it is such a problem then his habitat should be moved. They blast the band and have thousands of people walk by.
Maybe he would freaking love it but maybe not at first I get that.
It may have to be the next tiger.
How do we know he hates it so much? Who is telling us this?
Could he adapt?

That.
Is.
The.
Standard.

Any deviation whatsoever and LSU is never allowed to own a Tiger again.

You can not like it all you want, but those are literally the rules.

again:
his opinion of the cage in the stadium is NOT the reason he doesn’t go into the stadium.

we are an accredited Big Cat sanctuary that receives lot of research money for the vet school and oth Big Cat type research.

all of that money goes out the door once we start parading him around the stadium.

also, leaving him in his habitat gives a LOT more people access to see him than that cage does.
Something else LSU likes with his current setup.

So we will have to set the standards the highest in the country. We will have to make it right. If it is just possible then it is what it is. I will update. Gotta shut down.

it is NOT possible to be an accredited sanctuary and parade him around.

quote:

Mike VII not being allowed at football games could be a crucial difference in whether LSU is able to become an accredited tiger sanctuary. The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries has the most rigorous accreditation standards, with one expert calling it "the only legitimate accrediting body," and another calling "the gold star" of accrediting agencies.

That group will not accredit a so-called sanctuary unless its animals are not moved from their enclosures for non-medical reasons. Parading Mike at home games would prevent LSU from receiving its accreditation.

But Baker said preventing Mike from attending future home games is a requirement for the type of sanctuary accreditation LSU wants.

NOLA.com

whether Mike would like it or not does not play into the equation.
