There's scratching your head and there's scratching your head. Miles had us scratching our heads over Kentucky and Arkansas, but Saban had us scratching our heads over UAB, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arkansas again, Florida, Iowa and a number of others. Then he goes to Alabama and loses to MSU and ULM. THAT'S scratching your head.

nobody can really make a claim Miles is better
Yes they can. This guy posting just made a very solid argument.
Just because you believe something doesn't make it fact.

some of these fans trying to justify Miles as the better coach is ludicrous.
Again...you having a different OPINION doesn't make other opinions "ludicrous"
IMO.

Not to mention Bama is making a turnaround faster than anyone would've ever expected.
I hear what you're saying, and agree with some of it, but if you're trying to rebuild a program quickly, Bama has GOT to be one of the easiest ones to rebuild. I don't think Saban has done anything that several other really great coaches could have done.
And remember...Shula had Bama undefeated 9 games into the season in (I think) 2005. The season's not over yet, deuce, so I wouldn't get TOO anxious to swallow Nick's load.
If his past is any indication, he'll pull out and blow it all over your face.

Just another Bama retard's delusional rant.
I think we're used to it by now. This situation will be rectified in November.

Would Miles have Bama ranked #2-3 after one season?
With Shula's players - certainly

The best coach is a figment of your immagination--no such thing!

Miles is the winningest coach in LSU history currently. Ludicris?? 11-2, 11-2 12-2. Saban was not remotely close to that.

Sammich, no sense in posting numbers as some of the folks on here don't deal well with facts....

quote:I agree 100%. However, it's all about the coach-school fit. Miles did a decent job building up at OSU, but fortunately for LSU and/or Bama "program building" is not pertinent at all for either school at this point. Recruiting ( Saban is great, but Miles ain't bad either), and maintenance are key. Keeping in mind that Miles literally was saddled with Jimbo when he took over, I'm not sure there is a lot of difference between the two.
Hes a program builder, Miles doesn't have that on his list...
e.g., Would Miles have lost to ULM were he coaching Bama last year? Would he have lost to UAB with LSU's talent in 2000?

This guy can't be serious? They should take the internet priv from him.

Well, we don't need a program builder.

The monster that Saban built at LSU will be his down fall at Bama.

If by "Better Coach" you mean one with a more gigantic head, then no.
If you are using some other criteria, then my answer is "probably".

Say Spurrier was coaching at LSU.. where do you think LSU would be right now? Same position they are in now and everyone will say Spurrier still has his magic. Worse? Better even?
