Nah, the Flying V is a real possibility though.

The wing-t is better served for smaller fast lineman.

LSU has very big lineman made for power formations.

You don't start a scheme based off skill players, you base it off the ability in the trenches.

That's not true. You don't have any friends.

Really it was his mom, and she wasn't at Barnes and Noble. She's a librarian and saw Les at the library reading it.

yea, running the option out of the spread is about the closest thing to the wing t that exists

shotgun snap, misdirection, keeping defenses guessing, etc.

they did more than just run the option though.

like you said, traps, misdirection, lots of pulling.

it was a shotgun wing t pretty much.

not saying lsu should run it but we wouldn't be going back in time 40 years if we did

In a world with a Flux Capacitor-equipped DeLorean capable of taking you back to 1958? Sure.

I'd really like to see a variation of the diamond . 3 really good backs and a qb that's a running threat . Nothing but a inverted wishbone from shotgun

People scoff, but the offense Urban Meyer ran at Florida wasn't that far removed from the old school single-wing/wishbone offenses.
They operate out of the shotgun and spread the LOS more, but the premise of an extra blocker or two remains the same.

What you are talking about is the old Notre Dame Box, A hard offense to defend against.

Your exactly right. I read a story a few years ago when Urban was still at Florida and he talked in the article about how for the most part it is based off of the wing-T but ran from the shotgun. I am a big fan of the wing-T at the high school level. In college? no.
