Is the QB position back open?

Etling hasn't exactly progressed.
Chances we see Harris this weekend if/when Etling struggles?

Our offensive woes have nothing to do with Etling. Dude has balled out considering the play calling and how bad our O-line has blocked.
Also keep in mind he tried to check to pass plays when they stacked the box and Miles kept bucking him on it.

Highly unlikely. Unless Cameron was 100% responsible for every poor decision Harris made.
Orgeron is auditioning for a job in his eyes. You dont do that to this team, esp since Harris handled this situation the way he did after the benching.

Are you fricking blind?

Well that isn't entirely true. He has missed plenty of passes.
And I'm a fan of Etling, but maybe O and Ensminger can reach Harris better? Maybe call better plays that fit him?
I haven't completely given up on Harris and Etling hasn't exactly won the starting job 100% IMO

He got rocked by a cheap shot to his head that clearly affected him, and he still almost won the game.
I don't see how you can say this with a straight face. Etling is our QB.

I think the chances we see Harris on Saturday are pretty high

What plays fit a guy that has not shown the ability to make a touch pass and can't accurately hit a guy 10 yards from him this season?

The dude hung on to the ball way too long saturday night. Some of the pressure came from bad O-line play, others came from him not releasing the ball. Like i said earlier, i don't believe Etling is that great of a QB. He's serviceable, but nothing great right now.

Kid isn't blind, he's just stupid.

I don't know
I'm just trying to think what O or Ensminger could do to get this offense going
Maybe O can motivate him

It seems when Coach O took the interim reigns at USC he made a point of making it fun again to play football. I can see him deciding to give both QBs some plays, to keep either from checking out and to show he's a players' coach. And getting game tape for both QBs will help the next coach, even if it's him...

Etling isn't much better than Harris if at all

I think a lot of people are discounting that
Auburn had the best D we've face this year. Couple that with the cheap shot that clearly had effects on Etling, and I just don't see how you say the offense wasn't going. We were moving the ball just fine until the targeting.

If Orgeron wants the job he needs to play the best players from here on out. That is likely to be Etling, but at least we can agree that we are here is no incentive to play favorites.
Fwiw, that notion was stupid with Miles too but hopefully that argument on here left with Miles.

We must be watching different games.

Etling is living off 3 quarters right now
which is better than any 3 quarters Harris has had this year, but this idea that Etling is infallable is laughable

quote:I guess so. I know if Harris lost to Auburn while only scoring 13 points, while dropping a huge fumble without being touched, and missing a wide open Dupre for a touchdown twice on the final drive down the seam, this board would be melting.
We must be watching different games.
