Halfway through summer workouts. Smart has emerged as a leader, Taylor is very impressive. The freshmen are as advertised

They said Tremont has come back with an even better work ethic than he had before. He took his critiques from NBA teams and ran with them. He’s getting in better shape, gaining muscle while also gaining athleticism. He adopted a sleep pattern, and members of the team have also followed it.

Also Williams is a workout freak, and is leading as example even as a freshman.

Naz came in a little heavier than they would have liked and they are working him into better shape.

I think Williams is going to be the tone-setter for this team and will be damn near impossible to keep off the court. He plays with the same type of fire that Wade coaches with. It will, at times, get him into some trouble on the court (dumb fouls, skirmishes, etc). But you will never have to worry about his desire.

Reid has always looked like a Chris Webber type of player to me. Big guy with seemingly effortless skill. Because of that though, he sometimes plays with a lack of effort. If he's determined he can be a force. If he's lazy it takes away his advantage over most players. My hope is that Williams becomes the leader of the frontcourt and Reid feeds off that energy.

I've heard that we have 2 legit shot blockers with the same last name. WW may have to deal with a rotation issue because the younger Williams will be hard to keep off of the floor. Our highest rated recruit may not like that because he's coming with...expectations.

People overuse the words "high-motor" to describe an athlete. In EW's case, he has that at a freakish level and the comparison I heard was Dennis Rodman. DR averaged +13RB over his career and just under 19 in 2 of those seasons.

From your comments and a few others that I've seen, this reminds me a little of the Shaq era. Waters is like CJ, the offensive PG as a Frosh on a team lacking enough talent around him.

Then he gets a bunch of studs to join him as a Soph. Reid has skill and size (Stanley Roberts) but Williams (Shaq) may end up being the best of the bunch.

Throw in a bunch of other talented young guys (like Maurice Williamson, Harold Boudreaux) and it's probably not a stretch to think the 2018-19 team is the most talented team since those days.

Coach WW will be like a kid (every game) at his B-Day party coaching this team, the hardest thing will be whatever combination he has on the floor getting them to play together. Waters IMO is the key, he'll be the stick that stirs the pot with this team.

Rumor is the summer early morning workouts are not for the faint of heart!
I'm sure it's more than incoming fr have ever done.
