If this was a flame it is the best in the history of the rant.

If not this poor kid will probably have to change his name and move to another town.

Is that what you tell the team before all mid week games? You don't need to work today...it doesn't matter. If that's the case then sooner or later it has to wear on your frame of mind going into any game. With that attitude some team is going to sneak up when it DOES matter and kick your arse and your dream of Omaha.

There is no shortage of dumbasses today.

Skip focused on the postseason. His philosophy was getting his teams to peak in May and June. That's why we lost some midweek games to the same crappy in-state teams we are losing to today.

I'll accept your philosophy after they induct you into the hall of fame.

I have an opinion and I will voice it.

Wow I'm impressed with your baseball acumen but couldn't care less what you accept.

I didn't say you shouldn't voice your opinion. It's just a really dumb one.

But then again, what does Skip know.

Here are the facts: despite LSU's mid-week lapses (which, BTW, apparently are infecting the rest of the top 10), LSU is ranked ... wait for it ... no. 1! Hey, how about that?

And what's that, you say? They've won every SEC series this year? Including at no. 1 UGA?

So yeah, in the big scheme of things, a Wednesday game against Nicholls State is not as important as a weekend conference game. Is that so hard to understand?

Doesn't mean Mainieri doesn't coach it to win it, but it gives him and the team the opportunity to do things they wouldn't do on the weekend, e.g., get at-bats for reserves, throw a different pitcher, etc.

You don't need to work today...it doesn't matter.
If you seriously think this is Mainieri's approach to the midweek games, then you are today's third successful applicant for the ranter Card. Let me know where we should mail it.

Its pretty believable Stro, you follow LSU football, you've probably been following since 2003 (coincidence), baseball isn't great from 2003-mid 2008, the baseball team begins to rise, preseason accolades and #1 ranking, new LSU football fans decides to try to get into baseball. Watches a couple games, gets cocky and decides they have watched enough to determine how good/bad the team is.

I hope that in the future we can look into getting someone to sticky a post at the top right before each baseball season, and leave it up all season long, just reminding our football fans of what college baseball is like and what's realistic. Maybe just put it up before the season, and bump it after every loss.
