I'm not bashing the players at all. I would never bash college kids. I think the coaches being paid leave a lot to be desired.

Didn't you hear??? As punishment for getting whacked by UNC in the CWS, Skip gave the OK to let Mainieri and the players turn old Alex Box into a parking lot for Tiger Stadium, so they have been getting an early start to demolition

Ok. My first complaint is lack of a true pitching coach. Grewe was brought in because he is a "great recruiter". LSU recruits itself. Talent is great to have, but even Roger Clemens needed a pitching coach.

Yes, it sounds strange after their finish last year. I think the last 30 games were a fluke. The players put it all together and did great despite their lack of leadership at the top.

Look at his record at MSU. Now he is the pitching coach at LSU. Is it because of his record of teaching pitchers? No, because he is PM's buddy. The only thing he knows about pitching is that he couldn't hit it very well. He has said that he wouldn't recruit anyone that doesn't have a "power arm" because they can't win in the SEC. He needs to look at the type of pitchers that won a lot of championships at LSU.

What exactly has Paul Mainieri done wrong so far? His 1st recruiting class was number 1 in the country. His freaking SECOND YEAR we went to Omaha and one a game there..something Smoke couldnt do. Its unbelievable to not even give coaches a chance anymore. Its like you want him to fail.....who exactly are you? Did one of the coaches piss you off?

mametoo, not sure who you are or what the deal is, but you being on this board is just odd. How do you want to fire a coach for a season that has not even taken place yet, one season removed from winning a game in Omaha and rekindling the LSU fan spirit with Tiger baseball? Not sure if you are a player or coach that got whacked by Mainieri or what the deal is, but if that's the case, THIS is not the place to show your anger.

I'm not angry and you are right that PM should not be fired right now. LSU finished great. I'm saying that he is not a good coach and it will be proven over time.

please just tell us why you don't like Mainieri, its obvious you were a player that was cut, or one associated with.
He did something that hadn't been done in 8 years and that was win a CWS game. Just please tell me how many other coaches have done that in the SEC right now let alone in their second year?
