Haven’t caught a game in awhile, is O’Neal’s son playing or still injured? If playing how has he looked? Thanks

At least spell his name right.

Re-injured himself against Alabama. Was starting to come along a bit. Brings some rebounding. Would love to see him be a little more physical.
Haven’t seen an update on when he will be back.

He’s gonna play a bigger role for us next year imo. He just needs some playing time. Needs to gain a little confidence aka Hyatt.

Folks obsessed with this dude that barely plays even when healthy . If you haven't been watching, hes not as important as you thought he would be.

No one is "obsessed" with him. If you haven't been watching, he's 6'10", talented and athletic. He's worked through a series of injuries after spending time recovering from a heart condition. Given we've lost two players already on this year's squad including a 7-footer, I think folks are just trying to make sure nothing else is going on.

Agreed. He needs to play like he's mad at somebody. Play with more of an edge.

Agreed, and what that other poster said was asinine...When Shareef gets physically right, he will provide the team with some very valuable minutes...And it's a shame for that other poster's sake that he's not the 2nd coming of Kevin Durant.

He's played double-digit minutes in each game he's been available. Unfortunately, that has only been 10 games (4 SEC games). He played 21 minutes vs. Texas Tech and had 6 rebounds (4 offensive rebounds). He also played decent defense. LSU doesn't need any more scorers. But they absolutely could use a 6'10 rebounder/defender off the bench.
I don't think anyone is "obsessed" with him. But when he has been able to play he has contributed...despite what those who only look at the point total portion of the box score might think

Well he did have a big party Friday night so at least he is healthy.

Exactly - he can help us as a role player this year if healthy, nothing more but I don't think the vast majority of us expect anymore.
Metrics actually show he is our best defensive rebounder per minutes played, so given that is perhaps our biggest weakness, he could help us.

yep has a hurt foot, never been a %100.

He needs to get in weight room
Gets pushed around too much
Wade compared him to epps
He still has a ways to go to be like Epps

What? He barely gets mentioned on here. I forgot that he was on this team until he got in a game following his first injury. With that said, I love his energy rebounding and on D when I have seen him play. He plays hard. He needs to become more physical and he hasn't shown anything on offense, but that's to be expected when a guy hasn't played in a long while.

Well put. Hope he can get healthy in time for the SEC tourney. We have so many tall wings that need to play on that 131 122 style defense. Glad he transferred here.

I don't recall Epps being Epps until his senior year.
