No, because he's not the best on his staff

He is widely widely renowned for his expertise on the toss dive.

It's not Les's Xs and Os, it's his Jimmys and Joes.

Any chance he can mix in a little passing game coach in there? Or, God forbid, receiving tight end coach?

Why don't we just give it to freaking everybody, seems fair.

Not too difficult with the absurd talent we pull at RB on a regular basis

edit: not a jab at Miles - saying we recruit the position extremely well and it would be impossible for him not to look like a great running game coach with the stable of backs we have

no, because in my humble opinion a good 'running game coach' understands that part of having a great run game is a balanced offense.

the fact that we have been successful this year with one of the best rb's in sec history (arguably) by lining up and smashing forward every down doesnt mean miles is a great 'running coach'.

a great 'running game coach' can have an effective run game even without super elite talent. and they do it, at least in part, by a balanced offensive attack.

He damn sure was mentored by one of the best.

And he definitely has a great eye for young talent.

Have to be pretty good at it when everyone expects it and can still get your linemen to make a hole and running backs to get through it.

No kidding. For the last 10 years the howling and vitriol spilling from their stupid mouthes sounds like they walked in on Miles having a threesome with their mom and girlfriend/wife.

He's had outstanding running backs his entire tenure at LSU. Difficult to tell with that in mind, and its funny you ask this question now considering LF is the best running back he's ever had at LSU.

Not even remotely close. We run the same running play 30 times a game. We just have the best back in the country running it most of the time.

im surprised my comment has upset people. it wasn't meant to be a knock on miles.

im merely trying to say that when a coach has the luxury of one of the best running backs in SEC history its a bit hard to gauge the "coach" aspect of it.

maybe put another way: if LF was at vanderbilt, or Nichols St, or (insert school), don't you think he would still be doing quite well? or if LF happened to be at LSU in the Dinardo era or the Hallman era dont you think he would still be doing noticeably better than other RB's? probably not as unbelievably great but i cant imagine he still wouldn't be a force to be reckoned with.

I honestly think that LSU runs the I formation brilliantly. It is a thing of beauty watching it.
