Because people never improve… you’re right….

People generally don’t improve that much when they are showing you who they are and then the level of competition increases exponentially.
If he decides to spray fastballs at the top
Rail instead of trying to go big fly every time he MIGHT have a chance

I think he's a big league 2B. Reminds me a lot of Ozzie Albies, honestly.

Are you seriously right now?
I was about to post stats and reasons why, Then I realized you are a fricking idiot. But if you really believe Milam is on D. Crews level, you tell me what he does better than a Top 5 player to ever play at LSU.

Yall forget he’s a switch hitter. Hes a big leaguer imo

According to a former player, Washington changed his swing pattern. He is in AAA to work on it, get comfortable with it. Hope things work out.

Nah too short
I’m pretty damn short and I agree with this. Baseball is a tall guys sport. You have to be able to reach up and catch the ball and also generate bat and hand speed.
On the other hand, if umpires would call the strike zone per the regulations (basically elbows to knees over the plate). Milam would get a ton of walks because he is so short.

No... he's too short. Helluva SS at LSU and if he can come back, he should... and he needs to learn to stop biting his nails all the damn time. It's disgusting.

That’s hilarious…my 90 year old mother said the very same thing about a week ago!

Jose Altuve
At 21, (Milams age) he was already w Astros and hit .275 in a half season. In the first half of that season, he hit over .400 in high A and AA combined, better competition than and all SEC schedule. Its not inconceivable to say he would've hit .500 here and likely been LSU's best position player in history
He would be a lock for the HOF without the scandel and and will likely still make it. And due to his size, he had to hit over .300 every year at every level for four and a half years in the minors to even get called up.
I get that you comparing them on size, but Altuve is an outright unicorn.
And btw, Milam is hitting .266 this season with 2/3 of the games being non-conference,

You’d prefer someone taller but height in the middle IF can be overcome with superior footwork and positioning. But it’s another ding that will make it easier for orgs to give up on him faster if things aren’t clicking elsewhere
You can still make it to the majors as a subpar hitter. Hell Austin Nola was sub-.240 in A/AA and barely cleared .250 (with poor slugging) in his minor league career. You’ve just really got to be consistently special elsewhere and in an org that really wants you
quote:It’s actually not that much worse in SEC play (.256). But unfortunately all 5 of the SEC staffs he’s faced are in the bottom half in opponent average (#9, 11, 12, 13, 15). That plus slugging (.379) leaves a lot to be desired for a guy who entered the season with almost 130 starts

Absolutely hes a big leaguer! Hes elite defensively, he can hit from both sides of the plate, even for power. But he needs to be more consistent in the box

Altuve is actually a terrible comparison. Yea they are similar in stature, but Altuve is known for hitting not fielding. His fielding is his weakness, Milam is obviously the opposite
