Even going back to last year games he never really pushed the ball down the field. Fast forward to the 2021 season and it’s still an issue. Teams shouldn’t even fear the deep passing game when Max is in at QB. Pretty sure that’s the scouting report on him. His arm talent will always be average at best.

When Nuss came in you could just see the raw arm talent on his throws that Max just isn’t going to ever be able to make.

Max gets a lot of shite that his arm is weak but it’s really not. He doesn’t have a cannon like Myles or Nuss but he can still make all the throws. His issue is processing information a split second faster and being able to better read the defense pre-snap. This will all come with time and experience. I think everyone forgets he’s only had 4 starts under his belt in college. Burrow had a growing phase too in 2018. Give him a couple more weeks to get in a groove because like it or not he’s our guy we are riding with for this year unless Myles heals up and looks great in practice.

It’s absolutely amazing how fair weather fans can turn their backs on a young player after he struggles for a game or two when at the end of last year everyone was anointing him as the next great LSU QB. How about give the kid a little time before shitting on him. Tom Brady would struggle behind the sorry excuse we have for an OL.

It doesn't matter. This team isn't going anywhere. Everyone saw the future last night. You just can't mortgage that future with this Coaching Staff.

Not likely.

Even during the offseason debates about Max or Myles, the most hardcore Max guys even conceded that this was his bid weakness

I think he can, but he doesn't.

Nuss can and does.

Thinking Nuss should get more playing time isn't dissing Max.

Max is struggling, I think Nuss needs more playing time but I'd still start Max, bring in Nuss for a change of pace.

And throwing the ball into the ground. He did it less vs McNeese. But he is struggling at times with under throwing short routes.

He’s seeing ghosts unfortunately.

When he does have protection he just settles for the check down.

I think he can attack downfield but he’s uncomfortable in the pocket. That was the biggest difference between him and Nuss. Nuss just rolled with it. Max let’s it rattle him.
