I would say both. Alabama fans made it clear to me this past week that only football matters. Work with a bunch of Nama fans and they always say baseball is for pansies. I think if they won often they would be a baseball school. Fans like following winners. It's the sad part of sports. We have two programs that do well. I think our attendance does well in both. LSU is a baseball and football school.

well considering 99.9% of the country could give a shite about college baseball, I sure as hell hope we're a football school.

Exactly, bama fans dont care about baseball because they suck at baseball.

actually I wish LSU were a 3 sport school. Basketball has a ways to go here to catch up imo...

I know a lot of guys like this.
And there's nothing wrong with that. We're great/exciting at 2 different sports.

LSU, Ohio St. and Florida are the only schools in the nation that put a premium on excellence in every sport. They're just attractive schools all around.

That's not really a fair statement. Plenty of schools out west like UCLA and USC have had success throughout their history in the big 3 sports. Plus significantly more success in smaller sports. Schools like Florida State, Louisville, Miami, and UNC have also had ranging success throughout the spectrum of sports. If you're going to ignore LSU's recent basketball futility then you need to give other programs a pass for recent struggles in other sports as well.

There was a thread on the SECr about this. Pretty much all of them admitted that they'd love baseball if they were good.

Just like we'd support basketball if we were consistent.
Like how Arkansas brags about track... Track.

That's sports. And Alabama says its a pussy sport bc they know it hurts your feelings...

Football is definitely first on my list, but I love me some Lsu baseball too. I think most Lsu fans would say the same.

We're on the right track, bro. By 2015 we will be a 3 sport contender. Quote that shite. I don't care. Jones will bring us there.

Baseball: nationally respected program headed by a Hall of Fame coach
Football: nationally ridiculed program headed by a buffoon.

You decide which one you want to be affiliated with

Football is still KING at LSU but I will admit the baseball program and atmosphere at the Box is better than anywhere else in the country. LSU football has been semi-exciting lately mainly b/c of the weak QB play. We get a dynamic QB running the LSU football program and "excitement" will be back. There still is no equal to a meaningful football game in Tiger stadium at night. This season it will be ATM. Geaux Tigers!
