Not even close. Sentiment will quickly turn against him if he loses to Bama again and fails to capture the SEC.

Dude I hear ya, but why is it always about how many players another team will be losing as a basis for us beating them? How many times has that notion been thrown around about teams only to have said teams still beat us. Hugh Freeze may very well not be a great coach, but that didn't keep Ole Mis from skull fcking us this year.

What evidence have you seen the last several years that makes you think next year is the year?

What the miles haters in this thread seem to misunderstand is Aleva has no power over miles right now. For miles to be fired Alexander has to publicly make the decision, then go to the BOS and make the recommendation, then they have to agree. All of the pieces in the process just got humiliated and excoriated for considering just that.

For Alexander to make the recommendation it would have to be obvious that miles is incapable and the public sentiment would support firing him. Alexander has proven he doesn't have the backbone to do it without a guarantee. So that pretty much makes miles bulletproof, unless there is a catastrophic season, a dirty NCAA investigation or a miles scandal. 7-5 and 4-4 in the west does not come close to that level of assurance that miles has to be fired

No matter what the big donors want.

Well next year is not previous years, new players on each team... so last year is irrelevant to next year.

I know exactly what you are getting at, and you're correct. There are a lot of uneducated posters in this thread that don't understand your point. Let me try and help:

No one is saying that the fans are 100% behind Miles, what Supah is saying, and I agree, is that Alleva and his money backers took their shot and F King over ruled them and it would take a catastrophic season next year to change F King's mind.

Miles is here to stay, boys.

I'm fine with this if it means LSU can't land the next big HC or a current tier 1 coach like Herman or Jimbo.

As minor as it sounds, having Cam on the field clearly helped Harris in the second half, and while LSU ran the same offense, they looked more creative offensively. The new hire at DC is phenomenal.

I'd be ecstatic if LSU would have landed Jimbo, Kelly or Herman. But if keeping Miles was a must, then I couldn't ask for a better offseason than landing DA and retaining Coach O.

I think we all should have very high expectations next year.

Please tell me that you're grown up enough to understand that Alleva never had the power to fire Miles by himself. He can make the recommendation, but the decision rests completely with BOS, with input from various sources (boosters, President, etc.).

Then what do we have an athletic director for? Sounds like a lot of micromanaging going on. I know that at the end of the day, the BOS have to approve the moves, but if they aren't going to support the athletic directors decisions then why do we even have an athletic director.

For all of those that complain that the AD needs to support the head football coach and not undercut him, the same principle applies to the BOS and the athletic director. The AD is paid to do a job, making decisions on the head coaches at the school is one of them.

Believe it or not, if LSU wins big next year I'll be right there with you. I want LSU to win big, just like you.
