Priester?
Has to be him that he is referring to since he said it is a HS guy. Would definitely be a great get, especially at this stage of things.
Does anyone know if they sign LOI's for JUCO? How difficult is it to get out of them? I'd assume that it wouldn't apply since JUCO has their own organization and rules; so the NCAA isn't a governing authority for them.
That would be huge . Big kid, number 1 ranked Catcher in the state. I thought he would go in the 4th or 5th round .
We also got his teamate Brant Smith coming in .

As willing as it seems like he was to sign I think it’s a reasonable assumption that a 4 year school has unofficially picked him up and that caused him to slide or go undrafted completely.

Interesting. He didn’t exactly position himself very well to play hardball with his price.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Just about all of his projections had him in top 10 rounds, most around rounds 4-5; so for him to go undrafted would have to be a case of him turning down the offered numbers.
Nap, is he the guy you were referring to earlier? I read somewhere else that he apparently tweeted out today or yesterday that Johnson has been on him pretty hard; but then he deleted it.

Gotta be. Since Nap hasnt responded says a bunch . If you have a source, you wont have one very long if you rattle on too much.

Moscona mentioned it today in his first segment 2 names to watch closely are Priester and Dylan Carmouche.
Apparently Priester had a number in mind, didn’t get it, and is planning to go JUCO then draft in ‘22. Hopefully Coach Jay can work some magic and get him here.

6’5” LHP.
Apparently he didn’t pitch that much at MSU.
9 Appearances, 1.23 ERA, 7.1 innings pitched, and 11 Ks.
Did they just have a full cupboard or did he struggle?

not enough innings to go around
also, once there is an inkling that something special is happening, future year development takes a back seat and you pretty much just ride the guys you'll count on down the stretch.

That would be great to have happen; but in this situation, it is going to take his parents or others in his inner circle to talk him into the idea of going to LSU being better for him than going to JUCO.

With a name like Coltyn you already know he was a travel ball warlord growing up.
His dad also threatened to have his coaches fired after every hitless game.

He’s not an option to my knowledge. But I expect another catcher to be added to the roster in the next couple of days.
Starting to wonder if you're referring to Priester

I'd love to see Priester on this team but I originally thought it was his grades that were the holdup but understand that's not the issue. I don't know what the interest is with him and coach Johnson but he has all the talent. shite, he batted 1st. He's like a 5 tool player.
