Is it safe to say this is the greatest LSU offense of all time?

I know scheme has a lot to do with it. But we’ve definitely had more talented running backs. Our receivers are studs, but not sure if they’re on Odell/Jarvis level. Definitely close if not right there. And for Joe B, I don’t think he’s human. Again, has a lot to do with scheme. Overall talent and scheme, is the GOAT LSU offense?

The season isn't over, so no. I fully believe we will be saying it when it's appropriate though.

I think you have to separate talent from execution.
Execution-wise, at least to date, this is undoubtedly the greatest offense we've ever put on a football field.

To date.
To date.

I haven’t seen an update if this team still has the scoring record. Anyone?

Prior to this season 2007 was the best.
So, yes.
So, yes.

We made waves with that 2013 season with a 3,000 yd passer, 2 1,000 yd wrs, and a 1,000 yd RB. We are making that season look average.

The Arnsparger offense was probably the best. It can't match this one in statistics, but they couldn't cheat back then like they do now.
1. Linemen could not hold
2. Linement down field was a penalty (This is a huge difference-maker)
3. Receivers could not push off.

I thought the 2006 offense was great

Yes. Pretty safe to say at this point.

We have caught lightning in a bottle this year, for whatever reason. Just enjoy it.
Next year will be a different team, as will every year thereafter. We may be good again, but it will be a long, long time before we are this good.

Jarvis and OBJ had way more contested/harder catches to make...our WR are mostly wide open with a few contested catches...I believe with Burrow as accurate as he is and with his ability to escape and run is the key factor between that offense and the one we have now...of course we had more talented RBs but CEH isnt doing a bad job at all...
At the beginning of the season people didnt think we would pass as much with our "changed offense" because they have been hearing about how different our Offense has been for the past 6 years or so...So now that we changed it took a few games for people to realize they better back up and guard the pass which gave our RBs a lot more holes to run through which i believe is why our running game has gotten better over the past few weeks...Pass to set up the run

Wut?
These are still penalties.

Well, points trump other productivity stats in my mind, but this team does both.
As a team, we rushed for 9.1 yards per carry against Florida.
:letthatsinkin:
"Talent" is a nonsense word at this point. Cecil Collins was "talented" and he squandered that talent.
The 2019 LSU offense, so far, just overwhelms opponents. We've literally never had that - even in 2013, 2006, 2003 and 2001 - the only real competitors (2007 was a great team, top to bottom, but not really in this discussion of GOAT LSU offenses).
Let's start with 2001 - a SEC Champion team led by Rohan Davey, Josh Reed, Toe and DD - by this point in the season had already lost to Tennessee and Florida by a combined score of 70 - 33. Offensively, the light came on and we scored at least 24 the rest of the way (including a loss to Ole Miss and I didn't check for defensive scores), with 4 to 6 TDs being the norm.
2003 - similar kind of thing, but we just didn't lose 3 games (dat defense, doh?) - we struggled to score on Georgia in the first match up, lost 19-7 to Florida, typically scored 4 or more rest of the way, but struggled with Ole Miss 17 - 14.
We did almost score 90 on Arky and UGA combined before the big game, so the team did get better, but we did not have a dominant offensive performance in at least 4 games that year.
2006 was pretty gaudy, in that we broke 40 in 6 contests - including Miss. State, Kentucky and Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, but despite all that offensive firepower, scored exactly 3 points against Auburn - a single TD in that game probably puts that team in the BCS game. We'll never know how we would have fared against Florida in the rematch.
Outside of the losses, we were typically, but not universally a 4 - 5 TD team that year.
Finally, 2013 - certainly as productive and balanced a LSU offense as any year prior to 2019 - a 3k passer, 2x 1K receivers and a 1k rusher. The defense was definitely the let down that year as the team combined for 82 points in the 3 losses, including FG losses to UGA and Ole Miss and only managing less than 3 TDs against Bama and Florida.
We only broke 40 in 5 contests that year, but it was a 4 - 5 TD offense most weeks.
Compare that to this year - 6 TDs is the FLOOR.
So, from a standpoint of "Points" is what the rest of the offense is about, this is the greatest half-season in LSU offensive football history, by a relatively significant margin.
