None of those is really that far-fetched on its own. It's just the combination of all of them happening together that makes it unlikely. Hopefully Arkansas can beat one or both of the Mississippi schools to give us some breathing room.

Meh. They are essentially pickem games across the board. I don't know how you can be so confident one way or the other

So you're saying there's a chance.

Exactly, but what transpired in 2007 was FAR less likely and it happened.

I for on don't foresee any butt kickings in those games but I do see one or two happening.

NOT impossible but....Too many things need to happen........... I would just be satisfied with winning out and playing in a Jan 1st bowl.... even the Gator bowl....

Which is why I'm not giving up until it becomes impossible. It's not like we need something really crazy like help from Arkansas (though that would be nice), we just need the other top teams to beat up on each other the right way, with a UGA win thrown in.

OK. But you are setting yourself up for a letdown.. Sorry dude....

how much crow would be eaten on this board from LSU negatigers and opposing fans alike? LSU was deservedly the stepchild and heavily bashed early on, with most fans talking about how pathetic and that they were worst in the WEST....what a turn-around that would be.
I can see all of these happening, honestly.....but obviously logic tells you one of them will not occur. I just don't see how Bama is a 7.5 favorite on the road....I know the name bama alone counts for a lot...but then again, they are 1-7 ats over their last 8 road games....who have they really beaten this year honestly? The were VERY lucky to beat Arkansas, with the offense scoring 14 points.....their offense scored 10 points against Ole Miss.....their QB looked lost in both games...and he has one main rec.......imo I think if LSU plays the game they played this past weekend (minus the turnovers) then they win comfortably against bama...which would be huge for the perception of the LSU program.......I'd love to put everything together and blow them out of the stadium.

Wait....don't you realize this kind of attitude is not accepted by the negatigers....don't you know that by holding out some hope until being officially eliminated means that you are a blind homer who is setting himself up for failure....LOL.....good god some of these people
Every single thing that needs to happen individually, is very possible....but to have them all happen seems unlikely....but so what...if LSU goes 10-2 it will have been one hell of a turnaround and the nega's can go screw themselves. The Ole Miss game this weekend against Auburn, and obviously the LSU/Bama game are the two most critical.....I think Ole Miss will be favored over State, and Ga and Bama will be favored over Auburn.....as well as Bama favored over State.

Not being a negatiger, but I'm gonna go ahead and be a negatiger

NOW you are making sense...........

I don't think they are still a 7.5 point favorite. I think it has fallen to a 3.5 fav... BUT I agree... This is a pick-em game IMO....

While I hope this happens... You give Bama ZERO credit... Should Bama even be ranked ahead of LSU??? That's what bothers me about you... You act like Bama is garbage...Shame.. LSU will have a tough game against Bama. I hope they win and should.... But to act like Bama is NOTHING is just stupid........

I think our coaches will have the young'ens ready to play...Should be a great game, in a great stadium, with 102K+ wild and crazy fans screaming their asses off...
Now back to the Post...
As we all know, "it aint over til it's over", so don't count out the Tigers just yet...Most fans had written off the season, and voila, look what happened, we back in the thick of things...
IF we beat da gumps, that is...one game at a time, please!!!

We actually don't need Arkansas to win at all. It would be nice if they beat a Mississippi school, but along with winning out, this is what we really need to happen:
Auburn beats Ole Miss
Bama beats MSU
Georgia beats Auburn
Ole Miss beats MSU
Bama beats Auburn
4-way tie with MSU, Bama and Ole Miss. We win the tiebreaker.
quote:Maybe ALL this happening raises the odds, but I wouldn't put it in the category of "damned unlikely". What you're asking is this- all ranked teams win at home against each other, except for Auburn at Ole Miss next week. All ranked teams win against unranked opponents.
Impossible? No.
Damned unlikely though.
Auburn winning at Ole Miss opens the door; and if Ole Miss has a letdown (or is beaten up) after losing to us, that game is very possible. Then, it's a matter of the home teams holding serve. Our game against Bama might be the toughest of the matchups to ask for, but if we play like we did vs Ole Miss minus the turnovers, I think we win.
