Is it arrogance or confidence that Coach Orgeron possesses

During Coach Orgeron's trip to ESPN headquarters and his recent speaking engagement with La. coaches, it was amazing to see how well he communicates, something that is important in coaching.

Is it arrogance we are seeing from Coach O or is it confidence in his highly respected staff and his ability to communicate well. If it's confidence and communication, doesn't that bode well for LSU in 2017?

SI magazine discussing Ole Miss occupancy - "But I don’t buy that it’ll be Miles. Yeah, he led LSU to a national title, but he also whiffed on several coaching vacancies this past winter which sources say stemmed from poor, "rambling interview performances".

Best D.C. and OC in the country. I'd be confident too.

I've seen some stupid posts the last couple/few days but this statement takes the cake. Congratulations !!!

Pump the breaks there, champ. Canada is a good offensive mind, could be a great one, but he has proved nothing at the top level yet.

Ok, I'll play, what makes Orgeron a good head coach?

LSU. The only place in the country where as many people as possible makes sure they're as vocal as possible about how much they can't stand their head football coaches.

If Nick Saban were the coach at LSU, there would be a pocket of fans that made sure we all knew how awful he was and how these said fans knew more football than that guy.

Miserable people, I tell you.

Hire head coach that recruits well(unless you only look at early * ratings). Hire great coordinators and profit. frick let him have a full season first.

Sorry for not being ecstatic about a coach who was an unmitigated disaster at his only other full-time head coaching gig and shite the bed in our two toughest games last season... both at home.

It's arrogance that you possess. Zero confidence

How about letting some of the season play out before you're so sure of yourself?

I'm just as sure as you are, just on the other end of the spectrum.

If he proves me wrong, great, I'll own up to being wrong. But it was an underwhelming hire, considering that it took a 2 year coaching search just to promote someone who had been on staff that entire time.

Yeah, when a HC goes out and makes these kind of changes to the putrid coaching staff he was left with it's probably hard not to be a little cocky and very confident.

1) Fired Cam Cameron
2) Fired Bradley Dale Peveto
3) Fired Dameyune Craig (recruiting coordinator last class - had a WR committed since the previous year and found out on signing day the guy would not qualify. Not a good WR's coach.
4) Fired Jabar Juluke - RB coach responsible for Derrius Guice going the wrong way and missing out on every RB recruit except one.

5) Extended Dave Aranda.

6) Promoted Dennis Johnson (Meatball) who out-recruited Tom Herman for K'lavon Chaisson. He was and may still be the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2018 class.

7) Hired Tommie Robinson RB coach - the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2017 class. Has coached in the NFL as well as college.
8) Hired Matt Canada OC - the only Broyles award finalist on the offensive side of the ball last season.
9) Hired Mickey Joseph WR - has life long ties to the New Orleans and Louisiana and has been recruiting the area for years.
10) Hired Pete Jenkins DL - Probably the most well known and acclaimed D-Line coach in football - college and pro.

Especially when he went out and brought this guy in to be his OC:

quote:

This season at Pittsburgh, he ran the ball 63 percent of the time behind an offensive line that has three All-ACC performers and two running backs with 1,000-yard seasons on their resumes: James Conner and Qadree Ollison.

In other seasons, Canada’s tendencies are all over the map.

In his four seasons as offensive coordinator at his alma mater, Indiana, there were seasons when the Hoosiers had the Big Ten’s top passing attack.

The next season at Northern Illinois, Canada helped the Huskies win the MAC title by relying on the dual-threat skills of quarterback Chandler Harnish, the only player at his position to rank in the nation’s top 25 in rushing

at Wisconsin, he shifted to a power running game with three future NFL backs – Montee Ball (1,830 yards, 22 TDs), James White (806 yards, 12 TDs) and Melvin Gordon (621 yards, 3 TDs) – prompting the Badgers to run the ball nearly 70 percent of the time.

Canada went back to a balanced spread in three seasons at NC State,

“Our offense hasn’t changed. The philosophy hasn’t changed. What’s changed, if you look at the places I’ve been, has been the players,” Canada said.

https://www.espn.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/125117/call-his-offense-a-spread-if-you-like-but-lsus-matt-canada-just-wants-to-score-points

Hell his last two seasons with RB's and H-backs:
quote:

Last year, Pitt running back James Conner snared 21 passes and his backup Quadree Henderson pulled down 26. The year before, Jaylen Samuels – a hybrid fullback/tight end – yanked down 65 receptions to diversify the Wolf Pack offense.

65 receptions??? And Les' OC's rarely used the TE as a receiver. Different ballgame now for Coach O and the LSU program. Must be hard to be humble for the O.

"Foaming at the mouth"

If I'm foaming at the mouth then I guess that means everyone that likes the hire is sucking his dick then?

I can't have reservations about O as a coach? Especially considering how underwhelming he was as an interim last season.

It really is hilarious how defensive everyone is of O when he has done nothing of real note at LSU. It's like you were so tortured by Miles that you think literally anybody breathing is going to be an improvement.

I really do envy that ignorance.

So you are holding what happened over 10 years ago against him? 10 years ago at Ole Miss at that? But give him no credit for what he has accomplished the last four seasons at USC and LSU?

Cry me a river dumbshit. Woe is you, how horrible was it last year to lose two games with a TE's coach running the offense. How bad was it when the RB coach responsible for going the wrong way on the final play of the game was still around from CLM's staff?

Cry, Cry, Cry. Oh, and in case you may not have noticed every frickup that occurred in that game cost a coach their head. Except for Dave Aranda. All the rest are gone - Peveto, Juluke - and have been replaced by better coaches. But, keep crying I enjoy it. ha Ha Ha Good stuff. Cry about shite that measures have already been taken to correct the problems that occurred. Typical Rantard shite here.
