Uh, I have been to Gainesville and I can assure you that there is no restaurant there on par with ACME Oyster House, Gallitoire's, Juban's, Mike Anderson's, Superior Grill, or Fluer-de-Lis and there are more.

They're certainly the trashiest administration.

i Lived there for 5 years recently and it is actually great town. The area right by the stadium is where the college kids hang out and has typical tiger land type places. If you go to the "downtown" area there are some great places to eat and hang out with a 21+ crowd. It was a really fun place to live and was on par with baton rouge for eating establishments (just no good cajun food)
This. when I moved to Gainesville for work a few years ago, I expected the worst, but I actually really liked it (moved away since). Decent restaurant selection, bunch of farmer's markets, live music downtown, surprisingly good beer scene, and when you want to get away for a while Tampa, Orlando, and various beaches are all really close.

Dude, check yourself. Let's assume your list means that each of those places ranks a 9.5 or 10. So if any city has restaurants that rank, say 7.5 or so, that city is now trashy and worthless?

This Gainesville bashing is pretty lame. The town is quite nice, and the immaturity and nastiness of some of you is a perfect example of the trashiness of the bottom-end of our fan-base.
Of course, there are bad experiences one can point to, and I don't question that, but a lot of these negative reviews of Gainesville are outright bullshite.

Starkville.
And it really isn't even close.

Gainesville is actually a great town - just not on gameday.
The girls at midtown bars are incredibly hot, wearing incredibly little clothing, and everyone is getting incredibly drunk (RIP old Balls). Downtown has Lillian's, piano bar, breweries, etc.
Gainesville has one of the most underrated restaurant scenes in the State of Florida. If you ever have a chance to eat at Manuel's Vintage Room downtown...do it. Some of the best fine Italian dining you'll ever have.
The problem is that on gamedays, every bar/restaurant is clusterfrick packed. They don't have the infrastructure that Baton Rouge or bigger college towns do.

Gainesville is actually really fun if you know any locals. I've had nothing but fun any time I've been.

This. I mean, anyone that's been to Starkville knows. There's no contest.

Those are mostly mediocre restaurants you listed, and Gainesville definitely has places on par and better than most of that list.
Mark's, Top, 101 cantina, embers, satchel's, dragonfly, paramount, Francesca's, manuel's etc... but I am sure you tried all those places
