No not even close. He's playing out of necessity, people need to temper expectations. Neither of these guys are freshman studs or anything.

I'm not sure what you mean by rated. Finley was a 3 star.
If he was on a better team and better coached in HS I suspect he would have been easily a mid level 4 star.

But who says you will be? Surely you know that this board and these fans live for the next QB to walk thru the door. Next year, book it, you'll have some posting that Garrett is the savior and that trend will continue.
I'm hoping both these kids are better products and more talented than what CLM ever brought in. I do think Brennan is and will be back this season. Plus he was having a pretty damn good season and just a small amount of defense and LSU would be 3-0.

If by some chance he does light it up and leaves no doubt whatsoever he’s the best QB on the roster then he should absolutely take Brennan’s job. At this level you play the best player period, no room for loyalty. The chances that this happens are slim to none but we have seen it before in college football so it’s not impossible.

I like them both as QB prospects for the future, but they were a low 4 star and a 3 star, both not ranked in the top 200 players in the country. If you want to call facts hating, go for it.

What a Dunn question. For all the stargazers he will be the lowest rated QB recruit we have trotted out there since Andrew Hatch. We all know the ranking don't carry much weight. Take will do just fine.

So you base everything on recruiting rankings?? lawdd, just look up the players in the NFL that were low rated players coming out of high school.

Not many true freshmen QBs look amazing their first start. Just because he has an LSU jersey doesn’t mean he was a 5 star in high school. He was offered by Auburn, Kentucky, UNC, and Oregon very late. That was who we recruited against mainly.
His ceiling is Byron Leftwich if he can become an accurate passer. He doesn’t really mind taking hits and isn’t that mobile. He has gotta get better on his footwork to have time to throw which may hurt his accuracy this year. He is a bigger version of Rohan Davey kinda if you want an LSU comparison. He has a better arm probably. For those over 30 you’ll remember how long it took Davey to become a good QB though.
