Hope not. LSU fans are crazy wanting Aranda as HC after hiring O. Need a proven winner who will no doubt change the culture of the program.

Yea because Kirby Smart and Dabo Swinney were both proven winners before they got hired....

No. What has Aranda proven? If his defense was good enough to win the West with our offense I would say yes. Hiring two unproven head coaches in a row would be asinine and any other a word you care to use.

If they had hired Jimbo when Nick left that would have been different. If the tree is great the stem might also be good.

It’s wouldne be 2 unproven HCs in a row.

It would be an unproven HC after a proven failure.

Yes, please.

The mythos about needing to hire an HC who has been an HC before is waaay overrated. Every successful HC has always had a first HC job and the good ones are good from the start. Aside from having a strong coaching acumen for getting the best out of the players, which Aranda indisputably has, you want a guy who’s organized and can lead the coaches beneath him. I can’t think of a solid coach beneath Aranda who has left for greener pastures or who’s units’ productions have regressed.

People are entitled to be of the opinion that you need an HC with a track record, but there otherwise isn’t a knock on him that indicates he couldn’t be wildly successful. Dabo, Jimbo, and Kirby, amongst many others have firmly proven that a first time HC can be successful in today’s CFB landscape at a big time school.

The problem I see with this is that if CEO loses enough games to get fired that also reflects poorly on Aranda.

LSU is not going to hire a coach within the program if the O experiment fails.

Define proven winner... if O fails we will get a second tier Power 5 coach and or an up and coming non power 5 coach None of the top 10 or 20 proven winner coaches are coming here. In part because of how dysfunctional a very vocal minority of our fan base and booster base is.

Mark my words, Dave Aranda will be very successful when (not "if") he gets his head coaching opportunity. I sure hope it is here at LSU and not at one of our SEC rival schools. My worst nightmare is that Bama will pluck him to be Saban's replacement.

Why cant you girls leave this alone? Is like an obsession with some on this board...."what can we say negative about coach O today?"

Please give it a break!

Agreed. I also think Aranda is gone after this season. He’s showcased himself well enough to be in the mix for HC elsewhere.
