Is Daniel Cabrera's "tic" a recent thing?

It was pointed out in the game thread the other day and I realized that I hadn't really noticed it until it was pointed out.

Not knocking DC or trying to poke fun at all - just curious if he's had it for a while or if it's a recent thing? It's very noticeable when he's at the plate but I haven't watched any interviews to see if it happens other times.

ETA: Changed to tic. Thanks Patrick

I think you mean "tic" ...

unless he has a parasite large enough to see on TV.

You'd be surprised what 8K can show! Naw thanks for correcting me. I don't think I've ever typed out tic before in my life honestly.

My son has a tic only during baseball season
Dr checked his eyes among other things...stated it was due to increased focus, not to worry.

I was actually going to make a thread about this a couple games ago but I figured it would just turn into a flame Fest because of the intolerant baseball royalty on this board who can't deal with anything critical even if it's innocently inquisitive.

He's had it since he's been here but it's different this year. It used to just be his eyes now it's his whole head.

My brother had the same thing and he went and had it checked out. It could be a mild form of Tourettes or just a nervous tic that comes out during periods of high anxiety.

My brother doesn't do it at all anymore and I know he was going to therapy for it but I don't know if he took any drugs or anything. I don't think he did, I think he just became more conscious of it and made an effort towards stopping it. He hasn't done it in years.

And yet no one is being critical of it here, so maybe its all in your head

No, there is definitely a group of posters here who lose their fricking minds when anything critical of their precious baseball team is posted. They're worse than the football tards.

No problem. It's an easy oversight. Not something most people ever type out. I'm a Psychologist, so I type it out more than most.

Funny you should be the one to respond because you're one of the ones I was describing.

No hard feelings though, bro. I actually enjoy your baseball posts

I noticed it too- you’d think that would be a distraction as his hat/visor move up and down with it. It probably wouldn’t be so noticeable when he’s not wearing a hat. Also I saw an older video of him in high school and it just involved one eye blinking/twitching. Now it’s his eyebrows and that makes the hat go up and down.

Appreciate the replies everyone. I figured I wasn't the only one who noticed it. Again, not trying to make light of it or be a jerk - was just curious.

I like it, if he does as well and is more comfortable with it...more power to him!

His Coach has a blinking tic, might’ve gotten it from him. Maneiri’s is annoying as hell to watch.

Same here. It has become very pronounced, and I was very curious to know if anyone was aware that he had some kind of worsening condition, or if it was just a very visible tic.

But I figured the first 50 replies would be "shut up", or some variation of that.

If you have one, being around others who have it will make it get worse.
