He would have done something that LSU hasn't been able to do in five years. Kind of hard to fire him if he gives us something that we have been needing for some time now IMO. I wouldn't be mad if hes here next year..

Not by itself. I think if we went 10-2 it is possible.

He would certainly have earned the right to be strongly considered.

So you're saying we would have to win out for him to keep his job? He cant even lose one game? I think if we go 9-3 then hes still here being that 2 of those losses arent his...

frick that. If he beats the Gumps he sure as hell better be in. Give the man what he deserves. I for one am loving the new energy and O being s home grown coon arse makes it that much sweeter!

So if he beats Bama and we lose 3 straight to finish out the season, ya'll are cool with giving him the job?

Pump the brakes on the Gump-session folks.

I haven't been high on the Coach O head coach... That being said, If he wins out. He has earned it. He will have faced the toughest schedule, in the shortest amount in time, as any LSU coach in 20 years. And he is doing it on the fly. So yeah, win out? Go get a good OC and I'm in coach.

Assuming we don't have a serious regression after Bama, I don't see how we can ask for anything more. We wanted a more dynamic offense, and we had it within a week. We wanted a more aggressive defense, and we got that too. We wanted the team to stop playing down to the competition and get bigger leads before easing up, and we've got that as well. If the team keeps playing like this why would anyone even consider letting him go?

No...we will still have three games against three very tough SEC opponents. We'll evaluate him at the end of the season and go from there.

If we go 10 and 2, then as far as I'm concerned, the job is coach O's, as he will be 8 and 0 at that point.

I think beating Bama and going 2 out of 3 on the remaining schedule would likely get him the job. Running the table would make it a done deal. Lose to Bama and its likely over after the season.

I'm pretty sure beating Bamacwins the job. Even laying them closely will in my opinion.

By the way, LSU rolls in this game.

He'd be considered. But if he beats Bama then loses the last 3 then no, he won't. Just let the season play out

I'll be the first to endorse him as HC if he does.

If this team beats Alabama I think you'll see slaughters in the Arkansas/Florida/A&M games.

Momentum is a huge factor in college football, and nothing would provide more momentum than beating #1 Alabama.

On that alone? No. For example if we beat Bama but go on a spiral later against Arkansas and A&M. Alternatively I could see a scenario where we lose against Bama but win out after that and I still think he gets considered.

Who knows what happens on the coaching landscape after the regular season ends? Coach O staying has a lot to do with what other coaches elect to do as well.

Not by itself. It would certainly help his case a lot, but he has at least 3 more games after that as interim coach that he'll be judged on as well. A win over Bama wouldn't be as meaningful if it's followed by a collapse.
