Reposting this.
The rushing attacks that Brad Davis’s OL have paved the way for. HE frickING SUCKS
Year | Ranking |Team
2015| 108 |East Carolina
2016| 115 |North Texas
2017| 68 |Florida
2018| 28 |Missouri
2019| 85 |Missouri
2020| 76 |Arkansas
2021| 109 |LSU
2022| 43 |LSU
2023| 14 |LSU
2024| 104 |LSU
2025| 109 |LSU
In 2022 and 2023 we had JD5 which juiced those numbers. Even including those years his average is the 78th ranked in rushing YPG.
If you exclude them then his OL units have paved the way for an average 89th ranked rushing attack.

Lou Tepper had a drop linebacker.
Brad Davis’ whole offensive line drops…

If you look at Lou Tepper's defenses, there were quite a few NFL players on his roster. The problem, just as last year's OL, wasn't talent.

Dumb comparison. One was a coordinator, one is a position coach.
And Lou Tepper wasn’t even the worst coordinator on the 1999 team.
Also, Lou Tepper’s defense improved significantly from year 1 to year 2.

He could recruit. That’s the only difference I can see at this point. That 99 defense cupboard was lean. Especially in terms of depth. The next OL coach will have some good raw talent to work with if they can keep the top guys here.
It’s hard to believe someone as famous for his OL coaching as Pittman would hire this guy. Maybe it was just for the recruiting and Pittman did all of the development work. But NONE of that rubbed off on Davis. How could he not learn how to teach OL technique from one of the best in the game?

He was too busy drinkin' Gatorade and collecting his check.

Davis should get some defensive stat credits for number of times his OL was steamrolled straight into our QB or just giving up sacks.
It's really quite impressive how absolutely terrible this O line is. Just basic coaching from their high school years should have produced better results that what Davis puts out there. He made them all regress.

Tepper wrote a book. Don’t think Davis has done that.
Tepper wasn’t as bad as people think. He had pretty good defenses elsewhere. He just had a pretty specialized scheme and was here for a short timeframe. You need the right type of players to run that scheme. I’m in no way saying we should have kept him.

Sylvester will be a minimally adequate and mediocre OL Coach at Southern Human Jukebox University next season. He never should have been hired here by Orgeron and then never should have been retained by Kelly and then never should have been protected from getting fired (BK wanted to fire him after last season) by Woodward.
Only 2 more games to go with Sly, then Adios Amigo and Farewell & Adieu. (Most incompetent Non-Coordinator Assistant Coach in LSU football history)

The average of the total all eleven years of his O lines is 78.
Even with J Daniels skewing the numbers to the better in 22/23, not one and I mean ONE team in the SEC would hire a position coach that his room has averaged that low in the country over 11 years. He was just that bad before he came too, 79.5 over the first six years.
Unbelievable.

Guy has basically stolen money from LSU the whole time he has been there. Dude should be sending some of that money to J daniels just for getting him paid a few extra years.

Tepper gets a very bad wrap for a situation Dinardo let get out of hand. Baldwin was butt hurt he did not get the DC job and did everything he could to undermine Tepper and it worked. Dinardo let it happen and it was his undoing. The team environment was toxic.

At some point, Brad Davis has to take the blame for some of this

Fire strength coach and oline coach today
I don’t want the next coach be mandated to keep either one
