Well, he's 11-4 as intermin HCs at USC and LSU since coaching at OM.

How does that sound

11-4 isn't that great either.

I don't think 5-2 is bad considering the offense he was handed and the pure turmoil of a new hc, oc, and qb. His record this year is not a good reason to dislike this hire--there are others. But, he is our coach and I will give him a chance to prove me wrong.

By this logic Southern has won 8 in a row, should we have been looking at Dawson Odums instead of Coach O?

It's not my logic, it's the OP's logic.
I believe there was a lot more to it than O's record and the short term records of the other two candidates.

5-2 down the stretch is basically what got Miles fired

We looked like sh*t in the Florida game.

May as well have retained Miles.

Hopefully the Florida game was the exception and not the rule.

Correction. What got Miles fired was #1 not firing Cam Cameron and not making any changes to the offense. Unlike Orgeron, Miles had 16 returning starters and a full off-season to make changes. Instead, he was fired for his stubborness.

Afterwards, Coach O comes in and saves the day by going 5-2. What is what we expected? No, but to be fair, he didn't have the advantage of implementing a new offensive scheme, hiring an OC, or the off-season to prepare.

No.Anytime we lose the coach should be fired before he gets to the locker room.
