Felt like a huge gut punch when they swept us. We thought we were rolling, then some mediocre team came in and swept us. We were just the first victim of their streak.

Turns out they were probably just the best team in the nation. Getting hot at the right time.

Baseball is a weird sport. Everyone should repent of their meltdown retroactively.

We were a few pitchers away this year. Future is bright.

That rain out killed that weekend. I believe taking 1 from them could have
1. Kept them out of the tournament.
2. Allowed LSU to host.

They are a mediocre team. You can’t just throw away the other 75% of the season.

They shouldn’t have even been in the tournament. But if they win it all, kudos to them but they remind me of the Fresno State team several years ago, got hot.

Ole Miss was 14-16 in the SEC this year and squeaked into the tournament. 2008 LSU was 18-11-1 and the #7 national seed.

Not sure what the comparison is.

2008 LSU was one of the first 8 teams in the field. Not the last.

Didn’t JJ say they were best team we had faced all season after that series?

Wasn't ole Miss ranked #1 at one point? I mean I think it's obvious they weren't living up to their potential. They are obviously a really good team regardless of how close they were to not making it into the tourney. Some folks on the selection committee spoke up for them clearly.

LSU was 23-16-1 through the end of April 2008 when the streak happened. We know they were talented but sometimes teams just don’t peak at the right time.
23 game streak. Ole Miss wasn’t Number 1 for no reason. They are VERY TALENTED AS BY THE RECRUITING CLASSES. They did have a lot of injuries at bad timing. That’s my reference.

Why? LSU was loaded from that draft class. That class was why 2009 happened.

Because LSU didn't just slip in.

Other than they got hot late, terrible comparison.

And there ya go. They got hot a little later than LSU ONLY because of a couple injuries that delayed their run. Nevertheless, THEY GOT HOT LATE. Ie THAT comparison.

I didn’t say ANYTHING about seeding.

If ole miss wins they’ll be right up there with Fresno, Pepperdine, and Coastal Carolina as forgettable champions. Sorry to break it to all the new ole miss fans on this board, which is very weird btw

But, banners hang forever so good for them

How many sec teams have won a NC since LSU in 2009. This is unacceptable

Totally agree, it's why cpm needed to go.

I believe JJ will do it, I think he has the drive and energy.

Let's give him a few seasons.

So we are just going to ignore multiple injuries to key players and they got healthy at the right time? They started to get guys like Dunhurst back to 100% towards the end of May.
