They were. Home series losses that should've been won, but the team played like shite in the field and gave the aggies and Auburn both series. The extra two wins would've had LSU as a top 8 seed and hosting regionals and supers. Those were really bad losses.....

Dawned on me A&M has a first yr HC who's team went 29-27 the year before and he took them to Omaha
Meanwhile our fan base loves celebrating being X place in the conference sitting at home.

Maybe he meant a different barometer than the regular season? I think his assessment was correct, 5th best when considering teams in postseason. No one cares who was First in the regular season.

No other way to consider it than the way it is. This can change every year and every way. If a team loses a series to Tenn and that team goes 2 and q at Omaha not playing ND, does that mean they are worse than Tenn?
You can’t use that logic he suggested.

So Schloss gets almost an extra month to build a staff and bring in recruits and yet TAMU won 2 more games in conference. You also knew Schloss was at another Texas school recruiting and evaluating the same talent.

You can also look at it as they went from 29-27 to a top 8 seed and in Omaha so maybe LSU isn’t as far from getting to Omaha as some on here think they are.
