they'd leave campus open until kickoff allowing late comers to pay $40 to park

Ah certainly. Maybe there's logistical issues w/ leaving campus open til kickoff? But thinking they should just making it free for this game? Like that's gonna happen.

Leave them alone they are government employees. They do not have the capacity to think that their parking plan may not be working so well.

Here's business savvy:

Drop it from $40 to $20
Close it down 1 hr before kick-off, not 3 hrs
Sell beer in the stadium

Happy fans, full pockets

Cha-ching!

shut the parking down on campus 3 hours prior to kickoff (8:30 am for 11:30 am kickoff).
Something tells me you misunderstood their response.

Game by game parking is available in those designated lots until 3 hours before kickoff. You can still enter this area with a parking permit, however.

I just cant believe that if someone is willing to spend $40 to park...they have to be there by 8:30 in the freaking morning.

It is hilariously dumb.

Why would you close it down at all? What is the point?

I just called the Ticket Office at LSU. Apparently, they will not be shutting down the parking @ 8:30am. The guy in the ticket office said they will still collect cash for parking in the new area until it fills up or until it becomes a traffic issue.

He made it very clear there was not set time the parking would shut down.
