Plays football really well. Turns out he is also a track star. He can run fast and jump high.
1st in indoor LA state meet in the 400 and the high jump.

COVID cancellations last season cost him a 4 peat in the High Jump as well as relays.

thats the indoor numbers from last meet. his PRs are higher than that. not elite on the track but can definitely be in the High Jump with dedicated training.

I haven't seen specifically, but would have to believe he plans on doing both sports at LSU. Otherwise, he probably would have graduated at mid term instead of staying in high school for track season.

That's what he was asking for.

It was Saturday. He won both events

His high jump achievements are well known. Was not aware of his running awards.

He is the state champion in the high jump.

The indoor state meet was Saturday. He was looking for his results, not his PR

No offense, but “somewhere around 7 ft” kind of sounds like a wild arse guess as opposed to you having some actual knowledge about what he jumped. Six and eight are around seven.

As an aside and fun fact, the US high school record is 7’6” by a kid from Oklahoma. Wow, that’s some hops.

The world record is just over 8 ft by a Cuban guy. What’s amazing about that is he did it in 1993. With kids getting so much bigger and stronger these days, many records do not last more than a few years. It’s hard to believe the high jump record was set 27 years ago.

It looks like Hilton was around 6’ 6””. That’s impressive too. When I was in grade school we still did the scissors kick high jump. Lol. I think I got 3 ft once.

The record that blows my mind most, aside from Usain Bolt, is the world javelin record of 98.48 meters (323 ft). Throwing a javelin 180 ft is not achievable for most very good athletes. 200 ft throw is pretty freakish. A 300 ft throw is flat out alien.
