A lot of people forget Paul Dietzel did a similar thing Nick Satan did when he left LSU yes they left winning teams behind but another thing is that they both went coach somewhere else and left our program Paul Dietzel to Navy to coach Roger Staubach Nick Satan left us for what a season or two in the NFL to coach Miami remember that !!! Thankfully Paul Dietzel came back into the programs good grace !! But yes they are some of the greatest LSU football coaches to live well them and Cholly Mac!!!

No, it's clearly Albert Simmons in 1894. Dude was the only head coach to score a touchdown. Can saban say that?

He Coached YA Tittle, the greatest QB of his ERA, think about that when you look at where we are now and where we are coming from, Bernie knew what LSU needed along time ago, we forgot

Albert Simmons also coached lsu to its 1st ever win. He is basically responsible for Sabans success.

Jesus Christ Charlie are you suffering from dementia?

Cholly Mac coached the only lsu qb, David woodley, to ever start a super bowl.
Cholly mac - 1
Saban - 0.
Cholly mac - 1
Saban - 0.

Saban 1A
Miles 1B
Obviously Saban was hitting his stride when he left.
But 2004 Saban wasn't much better than 2005-2007 miles

Nick Saban but Arnsparger would be in my top three.
I agree but I have a hard time with Asnsparger with only 3 years with highest rank of 10th.He could have been great though.
