Three pass plays in a row on that drive was the correct call, they just were not executed well.

Jeremy Hill acknowledged that the run was not doing it for LSU: "They made it tough for us by stacking eight or nine guys in the box,” said Hill of Clemson’s defense. “When you see that lineup you know it will be tough to get yards.”

Clemson ran 100 plays, which explains why our defense was worn out at the end.

I also think the talent gap between the SEC and Clemson was exaggerated.

LSU has a lot of young players who will all improve markedly next year, and I expect a strong season next year.

It was soooooo tough for Hill that he averaged 10 yards a carry and had 124/2 in 3 quarters.

The 2nd down pass play, while a gamble, was clearly there. Mett missed it. Third down, I still throw to win the game...remember Bama ?

And how did they manage to do that?

Could it be because our drives averaged something like 3.4 plays, at best ?

AND WHOSE FAULT IS THAT ?

It is college, and you will never have the perfection with which you seem to be obsessed.

Hill couldve easily gotten the first down if he ran 2-3 times

Given what the man is being paid, I don't think that average competence is too much to ask for.

Even if he didn't get a 1st down , three runs would have easily killed at least 1-2 min and basically ended the game

Hill is protecting his idiot coach. Numbers never lie. 10 yards per carry, zero carries in the 4th quarter, NO EXCUSE

No, it wasnt the correct call. Not when your RB is averaging 10ypc and you have two to get.

They were trying to get a least one first down. It did not happen due to execution. After that first down I am sure they would have kept it on the ground.

I said this last night, I liked the play on first down. Creative and it worked. Now just do what you know how to do and pound out those last two yards.
