Importance of Jayden Returning this year

Is huge. You have to believe his success this year alongside Burrow’s, will become a major recruiting pitch in the future to help retain a lot of players that are on the fence of turning pro or have later round draft grades. Jayden, you made the right choice and are going to be paid and rewarded handsomely for it. Geaux tigers.

Obviously he won't win the Heisman, but as others have said I think Mason Smith could make a huge leap like that if he comes back next year. He was on his way before his injury.
ETA: Seems my post was misleading. What I meant is that I hope that Maason Smith decides to return and makes the jump to being a dominant player.

I wish that were true but we don't have anyone on the bench on their level or even remotely near their level so you could argue it hasn't helped literally at all.

Jayden went from a 3rd-5th rounder last year to a sure fire top 5 selection.
I love it when you see kid work through adversity and grinds his arse off to be rewarded. It's what every father hopes for his son.
When you face fire are you willing to walk through it snd come out the other side a hardened man.

sure fire top 5 selection.
That’s a little bold.

The thing about coming back now is that you're making money. A solid Dline starter, especially one from Louisiana, should be able to make better than what a 5th round pick. Then you have room/board, food, and training taken care of.

Fifth year (6th for Jayden because of COVID) guys always seem to make a massive leap. They almost always have their undergrad degrees and only have to take minimum grad school hours, which are usually independent studies courses. That allows them to be full time football players. If they have the desire then they can treat it same way as an NFL QB.

3rd to 5th round?
Bro, it's fair to say if he left after last year he might go undrafted and be lucky to be picked up on a practice squad.
People forget the perception of Daniels after last season. Not that he was bad, just that he was not a guy that was equipped for the next level.
Times have changed.

5 not 6. He played as a true freshman before covid year.

In his last game he threw for 200 yards in 1 half vs Georgia. He would've ran a low 4.4 or 4.3 and someone would have taken a flyer on him but you're right, he wasn't nearly the player last year as he is this year.

I don't think anyone thought we had anything approaching 2023 Jayden Daniels after the 2022 season from Jayden Daniels either.
