This team is obviously not bad at 8-4....if you're using only the records then where does that leave us at 9-3?

Exactly why it makes no sense

Cotton Bowl is a sexier matchup in closer proximity to LSU's heaviest alumni bases, so traveling is easier. Iowa is a boring team, but the bowl is certainly better than the Gator or Chicken Sandwich.

Cowboys Stadium is possibly the most breathtaking sports arena in the entire world. It's truly awe inspiring.

Stadium aside it's a lousy college football experience. Exorbitant prices inside. NFL security to get in lines that take forever. No real tailgating to speak of. No shade. One or two crappy bars in Arlington that takes forever to get to from downtown Dallas.

Then when you do get in the Stadium it's impossible to watch the game itself cause that huge display is so distracting you can't not look at it.

Sorry but never going back to Dallas again.

Cotton picked Mizzou because they knew that fanbase would travel to Dallas. It also helps that this is a old BIG12 matchup.

In the end, LSU fans will only be happy if this team makes it to a BCS bowl. Funny thing is, I could see a number of fans running to this board and bitching if LSU was matched up against a UCF,NIU or Fresno St. type of opponent.

would you blame them?

I would be kinda pissed if LSU made it to a BCS bowl and played UCF

To be fair, Cotton is at prime time and not cluttered with other bowls on NYD and has a higher perceived prestige than the Outback.

No difference in any of the bowl games outside the 4 BCS Bowls.

ok

as with the Outback Bowl this year, the fans are not mad about the specific bowl, it's the opponent

LSU Fan and the word Logic in the same sentence. Does not compute.

It's just not a marquee name. It's not "sexy"

If you make it to a BCS bowl, you want to play an elite team

you think UCF is an elite team?

I think this matchup could bode well for LSU recruiting. Many of the 5 star kids left on the board are planning to commit somewhere the day after this game. Seeing Jennings light it up against that Iowa defense can't hurt.

LSU fans are like the women in the joke about the elevator and the shopping mall. No matter what you give them, they are never satisfied.

The only way LSU fans would be pleased is if they played in the Rose Bowl every year against Notre Dame.
