I did not expect the baseball team to go 56-0 during the regular season. The team is 3-1 on the season for a .750 winning pct.
42-14 over 56 games with 20 wins in the SEC would be good enough.
I will gladly donate $500 to the American Diabetes Association if any Division 1 baseball team loses less than 5 regular season games this season.

I didn't read all of the posts, just the first page, but LSU will not drop much if at all, especially if they sweep this weekend. A lot of people were griping that some of the baseball polls didn't drop some other teams after bad losses this weekend, but the fact of the matter is that this is baseball. Weird shite happens, especially is mid-week games when the higher ranked team often throws their 4th or 5th starter.
Way too early in the season to worry about polls. I was encouraged by the number of hits; it was the lack of the timely hit that killed them, plus some shoddy defense and some bad breaks on a cold night. Credit the Colonels for coming in and getting the win and move on.

So that is your lead? Really? What shitty journalism. What does that have to do with the game that took place? Why stick that at the top of your game story?
You need a hobby.

The responses in this thread have cracked me up. As always, the Rantards can't comprehend basic English. Or maybe I should have explained myself better...so "my bad".
First, it wasn't a "he sho is mad" post because LSU lost a meaningless midweek game to Nicholls State. I am not mad, butthurt, crying, or anything else. I actually have the brain power to understand that one baseball game out of 60+ means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
And I give less of a damn about college baseball rankings, which is one of the most pointless endeavors in all of college athletics.
I was merely pointing out an example of poor journalism and calling out the author. As some of the more informed posters have said, the first sentence about LSU's lofty rankings tumbling is probably false. If LSU wins their games this weekend, they will probably not fall at all in the polls. Either way...who cares?
Point is, I think it is worth the effort to bring attention to poor journalism. It is clear that the author does not understand college baseball and how it works, and as others who follow him more closely than I have noticed, he seems to take little digs and jabs when he can at LSU. I couldn't care less about his personal agenda...I just don't need to read it in his stories. The lead to that article sounded like it was written by some "the sky is falling" idiot from the game thread.

I assure you he does know. He wrote that knowing full well how wrong it was.

If LSU were to sweep BC they would have a 3-1 week and they would not drop hardly at all. Baseball rankings are fluid and you are not going to have a big drop unless you have a really bad week like 1-3 or 0-4.
Weekend games hold a lot more weight anyway.

Maybe so...and this is just as bad as not knowing, in my opinion. I don't want to have to navigate around this guy's agenda every time I decide to read his stuff. (yeah I know...don't read it)

FWIW, that's what I got from your post. Probably a stronger reaction than I would have had, but I get it. It does irk me when people say stupid crap, especially when they are in the media and/or you know they are saying it to get a reaction or further an agenda. Actually, it's worse if they aren't saying it to get a reaction because it makes you wonder how these shitzippers managed to land cool jobs covering sports despite their lack of knowledge about the sports they cover.

Yeah, midweek games are a different animal, since we're usually throwing our #4 or #5 starter. Had we lost a weekend series to Nicholls State, then there would be cause for concern. One midweek loss? No big deal, especially this early in the season.

That one sentence really pissed you off huh? Who cares
Exactly. That sentence pisses me off. Losing to Nichols, not really...
What exactly did he say wrong? We are ranked top five and we just lost to a juco.

Lets review the facts LSU did not come to play serious baseball... juco team did come to play and kicked LSU's arse. LSU has a passive aggressive coach that cant fire up a lethargic bunch of snot nosed kids. Maybe he should send them to timeout... yea that what our physiology today advises. If they didnt run 5 miles before practice today he needs to be fired.

Did Nicholls get demoted to JUCO because of the illegal bat? Im confused
Posted on 2/19/15 at 2:25 pm to ell_13
