Maybe you're right. I think you find the right guy to resist Miles hand just enough and with a little success you may have Miles loosen his grip. Just a thought.

Yes, loaded.
I hope you are 100% correct. We shall see.

We just need a more diverse offense. We have the players to do it. We run the same 11 pays. It seems every running play is right up the middle.
Exactly. It's gotten to the point that everyone on the planet knows what play we are going to run. I think that we have the players to be formidable, and I know that execution has been garbage at times, but when the defense puts 8 or 9 in the box and we still run it, it just tells me that we can be too stubborn for our own good. How many times have we screamed "do some PA here" on a second and short, but no, we run it up the middle, and yes, pick up the first down, but don't take advantage of opportunities.

Miles has a death grip on the offense since 2008 happened

Great contribution.
Your post isn't the best publication either. You say we need a new OC. Okay, is that it? What cannot be changed from now until next season that can make the offense better? If a new OC is necessary, who do you suggest?

what do you think would change with a new OC? We'd still have Les with his hands all over the offense...
I know. I mean, if Les would just get his fricking hands off the offense, Mett could break passing records and shite.
Actually, I'm all for a different OC than Stud. But the "our O sucks because it's Les's style of O" is kinda simplistic and overlooks things like lack of talent (from 2008-2011) at QB, an O-line that was held together with bandaids in 2010 and much of this year, 3) a key injury in our running back corps, and 4) a total lack this year of prototype tall/fast/strong WR to help Mett get his groove in the passing game.
But facts are for nerds, right? Let's just ignore the good things we accomplished this year (like how the O *improved* as they season went on instead of regressing like the D did). Who cares about the actual facts on the ground? That's just crazy talk, lol.

Let's hire that guy from LA Tech.

Sorry I don't think an emoticon response is a great contribution. And it wasn't even directed at you so why do you care?
Monken would have my support if it were possible.

Don't lump me in with everyone else. Go find specific posts where I'm this huge negative complaining fan and come back to me. But you can't, so frick off.

There is a reason the offenses have looked the same under Fisher, Crowton, and Studthorpe
All of you that think this, and I know there are plenty of you, know nothing about football. Nothing.
From Fisher to Crowton to Krags/Stud, the differences are quite noticeable.
The formations (pro style, spread variety, power/pro style mix) are different
The emphasis on the types of passing plays are different(pro style passing, stretch the field horizontally, stretch the field vertically)
The emphasis on the type of running plays are different. (Pro style, option/pro style, power)

I agree with this. Still think we need a change however.

Because your thread is about as naked as a hippy at Burning Man.

Monken has been an OC for a single year. Mike Gundy was OC of Okie State for four years before taking the Head Coaching job. Are you going to attribute their success on offense to one guy? Come on, sir. I'm sure Monken is a great fit, but they had an offensive system before Monken got there, and it was Gundy.

It doesn't just have to do with his first year at Ok St. Do you not believe he would be an improvement from a philosophical standpoint from Stud?

I think people just forgot. Hell, we opened games up in 5-wide constantly while Crowton was here.
Loved when he would put Trindon to far sideline out-wide. JJ couldn't hit LaFell, Tolliver or Randle but he is going to be able to throw down-field to a 5'5 guy?

Whose philosophy do you think is controlling on this team? If Les wanted a spread offense, don't you think he would get one?

I don't think Monken is a guy that has to run the spread offense and I don't want that.

aTm hired the former QB at Tech Texas and their offense is sick. Let's make him an offer.
