Let's see what he has in store for florida before we really get nervous.

Anyway,Joe Burrow will carry all of us to the promise land.

I mean, I don't disagree. But we need a defense that can make plays, and make them change their gameplan of we want to make the playoffs.

I get that, but his schemes have been shite. Giving too much cushion on WRs and LBs are very soft in coverage. I hope he gets back to man to man in SEC play
Did a good job getting pressure and/or harassing QB today. Maybe not a lot of stats, but somebody was either causing him to move when he didn't want to or adjust (and he's not that good at it).

Especially Shelvin. He was making their C look like wet paper.

I think it’s due to our defense having to practice against our offense.

They’ve been going up against our multiple option dynamic offense for months and are probably just a bit mind f*cked and scattered in their thinking that they have to all be everywhere to cover everything possible.

Hopefully they can correct it.

It feels like Aranda is playing it safe at times to protect some of the inexperienced players filling in for starters because he knows the offense will put up plenty of points.

This is exactly what it looked like to me. Plus the terrible tackling.

Why not? This board is full of criticism. Aranda better start earning his money. Start by focusing on tackling!!!

Okay this is what I get

Why are people giving Aranda pass?

Aranda is the highest paid assistant coach in College football. He is the defensive coordinator and is responsible for everything good and bad the defense does. Just because he is made out to be some genius by people doesn’t mean he isn’t responsible for what’s showing on the field.

I’m not saying fire him or that he somehow now isn’t a great coach but maybe Glenn Gilbeau article before the season about Aranda had more truth to it than most people wanted to hear.

Aranda is in a comfort zone with a fat contract. He forgets how to coach a good D. We got a Chief II.

If it was one game I’d agree it’s now 3 games this year and the final two last year.

Yes we have had injuries but everyone deals with that.

Playing it safe is the incorrect way to do this. Our o is a power house now so we should gamble more on D

Offense so good it scored for Vanderbilt, which I feel like people don’t realize. CEH and Brennan gifted them 14 points. There were like what, 4-5 starters missing? The defense isn’t that bad.

He doesn’t seem to know what he has or what he wants?

The “professor” needs to go back to basics. He has analysts who scout the opponents. He has analysts who self scout.

He deserves low grades even with the injuries. Texas can be explained. NW State and Vandy cannot.

So Freaking Vanderbilt scoring 24 points on LSU’s defense is acceptable to you for how much LSU is paying Aranda and the talent gap difference in the two teams?

Nobody has forgotten Vandy scored twice on defense but they still scored 24 pts. Bottom line is our defense has been a disappointment and the excuses need to stop. We score too fast, injuries, tackling, etc. this is not the defense we have come to expect at LSU.

I know some fans have an agenda and will do anything to defend DA bc they credit him for Os success and have named him HC in waiting but the performance by the defense is all on him.

And we’re 1/3 way through this season....how long does a 2.5 million dollar coach need?

Tackling is by far the biggest issue I see. If they clean that up I can live with the rest of it. Waaay too many missed tackles. We look foolish out there way too often. Delpit is probably the most disappointing. Don't know what's happened to him.

I’ve been reserved in criticism of DA but I don’t think DA deserves a pass he is the D coordinator, and I don’t know what happens in practice or how much time is actually spent on the field but in my eyes when watching the defense on the field this looks like too much time is spent in video room and not on practice field
Everyone takes bad angles ( except Fulton), no one breaks their hips down and squares them for a tackle when coming down field they just blow right past the ball, no wrapping up.
There Isn’t a problem getting to the ball they just whiff when they get there so much so the “Calvary” can even help in pursuit

Lol as long as offense is doing their job and scoring ifgaf how many they score on the defense. Aranda clearly wants to experiment with defenses because the offense allows the cushion. We know defense can play man. Aranda wants to mix and give experience with zone. You think you can beat other teams by solely going man coverage?? No they won’t get the experience playing zone in practice compared to other teams. Vanderbilt has a bye week to show LSU stuff they don’t have on tape. Vandy probably saw Texas exploit the zone and the underneath routes and yeah Vandy did that. Lol y’all expect way too much. And besides, it wouldn’t be fun and there would be no thrills to watch if it was 63-0 every single game- if that’s what you want then buy NCAA and max out the player stats and win every game like that.
