Jones is a reliable back and gives great effort but he is just athletically limited. A more explosive back houses some of the runs that Jones gets tackled on once he gets into the secondary. People act like he’s a game changing back but the reality is he averages 4.4 yards per carry and only has two 100 yard rushing games this year.

Kevin Smith wasn’t at Ole Miss that year. Since smith returned to Kiffin’s staff (2023) that haven’t had a 2nd back get more than 95 carries.
