That 5’9 guy probably has a 40+ inch vertical and runs a sub 4.5 40. And size doesn’t make much difference if the receivers can’t catch, position their bodies correctly, and if the balls aren’t well placed.

Im quite sure he has a 40+ inch vertical. Are we pointing this out because LSU 4 and 5 star receivers have lead in their feet?

That was Cam Cameron's awesome passing game plan in 2016 against Wisky.

Just throw it up to Malachai, they said. Sojurn Shelton is only 5'9" they said.

I'm in no way saying he's badger-like in any way, but I'm sure people thought the same thing when they first saw TM7 on paper.

Mathieu was primarily a nickel at LSU. His disruptive playing style slotted him neatly between corner, safety and linebacker in skillset.

This kid, while I'm sure is fast and skilled has no background or demonstrated performance in doing what Mathieu did, which is, frankly, not reproducible.

What Mathieu did/does cannot be coached. He effectively had some sort of radar that told him where the ball was and the best line to make a play, even if he couldn't see the ball or the play unfolding. You can't explain it.

Do you know why he plays safety rather than corner? Hint: It's not because of his lack of skills at corner.

Gonna need more than 2 PI no calls, a bad throw, & 2 good plays to get impressed. Guess we'll see Sunday night

I don’t care how good the kid is... height will win every single time if ball is thrown correctly. Go play basketball against someone 6’5 plus you will never get a rebound coming off the basket on a 50/50 unless you foul.

Tyran's strength at LSU (or pros) was *never* at straight up corner.

If it is not a mismatch, then LSU has real problems on offense.

I'm sorry, but unless Bandy is the second coming of Spud Webb...he isn't outjumping Sullivan (6'7"), Marshall (6'4"), or Anderson (6'6") for any jump balls. It's just not happening.

I'm taking our CB duo of Greedy/Fulton against Bandy/Jackson all day, every day.

Ok never mind. I hope we run up the middle. If a quarterback can be accurate, a 6’6”+ guy should have an advantage over a 5’8” guy all day. But since this guy is apparently D. Green incarnated, then we should just avoid him

You sound a girl. You made a pretty ignorant post/point, some posters dropped some corrective knowledge on you and rather than acknowledge that you reply overreacting.

I’m an old fart..but I remember many thinking Sam Mills as a 5-8 middle LBer wouldn’t cut it. Don’t fall for the height weight mantra. Skill, technique, heart, and smarts play a huge part.

I think the only point people are making here is it’s not smart to underestimate the guy based solely on his height.

Someone above mentioned Spud Webb. Saying that you should throw the ball to Lebron James when he's being guarded by Spud Webb is not a knock on Spud's abilities. Its exploiting a physical advantage that is impossible to consistently overcome. Especially when its just rebounding and no dribbling.

I’m sure you are all-knowing about football since you are posting on the Rant, but you should spend more time reviewing your sentence structures. Moreover, and especially, when your big point is pointing out the ignorance of others.

The 5'9" corner is the nickelback and will be playing the slot reciever. He will be moved around based on matchups.
