There are actually some rumblings over here about the OC at Auburn being fired.
After one game...really? Is there more to it? Doesn't make any sense.

(slow clap getting progressively faster)Ok, yeah, I like , IM WITH YOU!!!!
The home team winning streak has got to give sometime. Nobody is expecting LSU to score a ton so when they come out and Hatch starts throwing 15 yard outs and 25-30 yard posts, AU will be taken off their plan. Hatch is not a great QB but I belive he is capable. I am Confident that Crowton will have a plan in place to attack AU. AU on the other hand can not currently share that confidence in their guy. Its going to be a fun game and one I have chalked up as a loss since June but im starting to get excited about our chances.

Feldmen on ESPN predicts AU goes down this weekend to Southern Miss!
IMO, that is unlikely. Southern Miss can't stop the run. ULL totaled over 200 yards rushing against the Eagle defense last week. Moreover, while USM has a good RB, they can't throw the ball. Auburn will stack the box and smother the line.

Driveman, I thought we were friends?
and I thought you were a LSU fan
we are brother.
and just because you're a fan doesn't mean you can't look at things objectively. i'm not saying we can't beat them but to think we're going go into the jungle and roll them insane with the two rantards we have at quarterback.
not to mention this is the game they have circled TWICE on their schedule. not only are we the defending champs coming into their place...you can bet they want revenge for what les pulled out of his hat last year in tiger stadium.

The LSU quarterbacks must be able to threaten the youthful Auburn secondary with intermediate and deep routes
What makes you think that Hatch, Lee or Jefferson can't throw it long? Just b/c JR is gone doesn't mean we have no deep threat. Send Byrd, Lafell on the fly and throw it. I can't wait to see it. IMO this QB thing is blown out of proportion. I mean don't other good teams have to break in new QB's from time to time or is it only LSU?

The key to this game will not be Hatch or Lee vs. the AU defense; it will be Crowton vs. Tubby. Each coach has enough pieces to work with. Could be a great chess match.

Obviously, I don't know if Jefferson can throw an accurate deep or intermediate route in an SEC game. No one does. He hasn't played.
Hatch had the opportunity to hit a few receivers on deep routes Saturday and woefully underthrew the ball. In particular, Byrd badly beat his defender down the west sideline only to be forced to break stride and slow down because of the Hatch underthrow. The corner caught up to Byrd and deflected the pass.
Lee might be able to throw an accurate deep or intermediate route, but he tended to lock onto receivers against Appy State and telegraph his passes.
BTW, I completely agree that LSU should be able to put a successful QB on the field despite Periloux's departure.

And? What does that have to do with this year? Nothing.
It has to do with you being a fricking moron. My point was the poster I replied to said Hatch couldn't score 10 points in JH. Jamarcus Russel, a beast of an athlete, never scored double digit points in JH either. You need to get your head out of your arse before you post.

You need more than just a vengeful mindset to beat LSU. We're not bama.

I'm going to go ahead and say it: LSU will DESTROY AU
The Tigers score 30+ on that defense, and hold them to 10 points.
LSU starts slow, then ROLLS the war eagles in the second half. AU fans start pouring out of the stadium in the third and beginning of the fourth quarter.
It will be the first time either team has won at the others home in... ten years?
and it will be a blowout.
I have a gut feeling about this, confirmed by a dream the other night.
This LSU team will be PUMPED UP AND READY TO SMASH SOME HEADS.
Sounds good...I'll go ahead and book it as a win.

I'd be a lot more confident if LSU had an opportunity at more than just the warmups against Appy State and now North Texas before going to Jordan-Hare.
What we saw of Auburn this past weekend is NOT what we'll see in three weekends. You can take that to the bank.
Tubs will have his team ready to play, because everyone and his dead grandma knows this game puts the winner in the driver's seat for the SEC West. As an earlier poster so eloquently put it, if J-Rock could only muster 12 points in two trips to the Plains.....
Well, I, for one, have far more confidence in Crowton than I ever did in Fisher. We're nowhere near as reliant on the QB under Crowton's system. Still, we are gonna need to be near-perfect to overcome the Tigers, the hostile crowd and the officials.

our win was a little more impressive to me than Auburns. there offense struggled, ours didnt. not saying it was spectacular but we didnt struggle. Auburn is currently goin through a qb CHANGE.
playing them early benefits us very much. i dont see their offense clicking by the time we get to them.
auburn is the most important game of the year in my opinion. if we beat them we could possibly lose to georgia and florida and STILL make the SECCG. gotta beat auburn. i think we will

Auburn isn't showing any of their offense against ULM. Auburn's offense looked ten times better in the bowl game against Clemson last year and Tony Franklin had been there for about 4 weeks. Auburn is just sandbagging while they can, don't believe that they spent all offseason working on the new offense and couldn't do better than what they did against ULM.
Posted on 9/4/08 at 5:38 pm to bigpapamac
im just saying they ran the ball about as good as week did in week one.
their qb play however was much worse than ours. 85 total passing yards. so we have the edge in that regard SO FAR. if it doesnt improve, good news for us.

Didn't they run for over 300 yards against ULM? If you're able to run the ball like that, what would be the point in doing anything differently? No need to show your future opponents your entire offense when you can just run the ball down somebody's throat like that.

If not, Auburn will simply creep nine into the box and stuff our running game. No matter how talented our offensive line is, they won't be able to consistently run against nine top echelon SEC defenders.
I promise you if Auburn puts 9 in the box, Hatch can throw the ball far enough and with enough velocity to score.

I love this board ... and I think this weekend's game with USM will tell us a lot about Auburn
Auburn's passing game has to come around to hang with LSU. They'll need to throw at least 20 passes and complete more than half of them to keep it close.
If they can't get this done against USM, they'll never get it done against LSU
Also, turnovers from LSU should be almost nil, and that's a huge advantage. I see a low scoring game, with AU lucky to score 10 points.
We'll see what kind of offensive production AU is capable of this weekend with their new scheme.
If they can't pass on LSU, we're gonna eat 'em alive
