but for me, the final 2 or 3 yrs of Miles I was not even close excited for LSU football like in the past.
To be clear, in Week 9 of the 2015 season when LSU was 7-0 and ranked #2 in the first CFP, you were not excited?
LINK
See...that's a problem as far as I'm concerned with folks and Miles. Up until the wheels came off at the end, LSU was exactly where we wanted them to be at that point. Failing to be excited about a team ranked #2 at 7-0 is...well...crazy.
ETA: Being worried that Miles would frick it up because in your opinion that's what you thought of him is one thing...but to be unexcited about "LSU Football" as it is LITERALLY in the process of succeeding is the definition of never being able to be happy with any outcome.

virtually no one implies that are some that do.
You missed the point, again I might add. Only 2 or 3 have actually said it, but it seems like most that are critical of past mistakes are accused of it. Just because a couple of people say one thing, that doesn't mean that whole other group of people feels the same way.

He didn't miss the point...he's actively avoiding it. They know it's not true...they know that there is no contingent of posters here who have said anything remotely like they suggest. If there were, they'd all have quotes from us in their sig lines proclaiming it.
It's just a straw man, and a lazy device used to smear everyone who dares criticize Orgeron. None of them, even the ones that seem dumb enough for it to be true, are actually so stupid to have not gotten this message by now...that you can hope and wish for LSU to win every game from now until the star goes nova and none of that means that in your heart of hearts you think it's going to actually happen.

If you weren’t behind O a month ago, why now? What has he proven in the last 30 days?
Orgeron has done a lot of good things on paper. If you were to look at his moves one by one they would seem to make sense in the moment. I guess if all you look at are the moves, there's a lot to be excited about, but he's still the one charged with cooking the meal once the ingredients are together. His job of managing his assistants last year was piss poor.
For whatever reason, Orgeron's teams consistently amount to something less than the sum of their parts.

Whether the positives show up as WINS ... no one yet knows
Then you are talking about changes. That's all they are until you can see something tangible to make them a positive. At this time last year people thought the Canada hire was positive.

Is really what LSU football has become? "At least we know it won't be a total disaster." Is that what it's come to?
quote:
These positiveness can only bet he result of effort and work....probably of many in the coaching staff.
All coaching staff work hard. No one is questioning the dedication of the staff.

disliked and used negative recruiting against LSU up until 2015. Made sure Joe McKnight went to USC
Umm wasn’t he employed by USC or ole miss? Sooo your saying any coach that is from LA should not try and make their team better and help LSU when they are not employed by LSU? Just help LSU bc they have LA loyalty? Lol you are adorable
quote:
Using that to get the job in the first place was dangerous.
Hey, that falls on Alleva my man, if Alleva was willing to hire you to coach LSU and I’m pretty sure you have zero coaching experience, you would take it in a heart beat. Don’t blame O for getting a job he is not qualified to get, like I said plenty of times blame alleva.

At the start of the season you or I had no idea they would be 7-0, so no wasn’t that thrilled of the same ole same ole that miles gave the fans. Should have won it all with that team.

So...even though they were #2, ranked 7-0 and had everything to play for at that point...you were still unhappy.
And I'm called negative.

Yeah, starting that season with a Hesiman trophy candidate wasn't at all exciting.

What were you saying in the other thread about not expecting a negative outcome this season?

We're all LSU fans. No one WANTS LSU to fail. the fact that many of us believe that it's inevitable due to what we see as his inherent weaknesses DOES NOT mean we are hoping for it to happen, because that would be counterproductive to LSU winning.
My brother-in-law is an Ole Miss fan. I remember how fired up he and his friends were when O was hired. I was told he was "on a mission from God" and was going to turn the program around with all the talent he was bringing in. Then the season started . . .

Didn’t say that bro, im talking start of seasons.
7-0 I was on cloud 9, but typical Les happened

I mean, yeah...that's obviously true. My problem is I'm not a dishonest douche I guess.
Ya wanna put that to a vote?
You act like you're the only one waiting for O to earn respect. Give me a fking break. It's the same thing all fans want. You're not special in this expectation.
I'm just not willing to trash him while he's attempting to make things happen. It serves no purpose....a thought lost on most of you haters.

Who's trashing him?
Does accurately recounting his past count as trashing him?

No, you are missing the point, it is not just 1 or 2.
Those numbers may fit your argument but they are false.
and many others keep implying it because they do not have the balls.
and BTW, I did not say the whole group ... but there are many.
Go back to the posts in April and May.

Now I see where you're getting it from, just like everyone else that's said it. Anytime someone has presented what they believe is evidence, it's just someone saying they think LSU is going lose.

and that may or may not happen ??
I do know this:
1) O has more support from the staff (and the money) than he did at Ole Miss.
2) O has a better staff at LSU than he did at Ole Miss.
3) Just the fact that he has more experience has to help.
Experience provides knowledge....whether that translates into wins, who knows.

To what end? How does recounting the past have anything remotely to do with with the upcoming season?
Nothing would be the correct answer.
