Im not for firing a coach that is underfunded, given mid sec resources, average facilities compared to the rest of the sec and still is top 15 in the country every single yr. Ppl talk about Marissa Young, she plays in a pathetic conference and got boat raced playing against the big boys. This board would go ballistic the first yr she didn’t host, she also doesn’t recruit at a high level. Beth just signed two elite classes, these are classes again that the best in the country wanted not propped up daddy’s girls. I have been consistent all along allow the contract to run its course and evaluate at that time. My only complaint is lack of a pitching coach, it’s hard to manage a club and be a position coach

It's always the promise of next year's recruiting class. Every season we hear the same thing. She couldn't get it done with a loaded roster in 3 trips to OKC. She won't get it done in the future. She's one of those coaches who wins just enough to overcome her ability to do less with more. Let her finish out her contract and cut her loose. I don't care what her incoming recruiting class looks like.
agreed. either we want to be elite or not, that is the bottom line. no? then keep beth. yes? then try another direction.
inb4 she has ONLY had 14 years! giver her 14 more!

I think it helps her that the big three ( football, men’s basketball, baseball) had a historically suck year. We got to keep her

The real issue is that you are paying a lot of money in dead contracts and there is no stomach to add to that with a non revenue sport coach who is making the postseason. She might not be what we want but the program doesn’t suck she will be here as long as she has an active contract

do you follow softball at all? or just a casual fan?
Borderline casual these days, but Beth has done better at LSU than any other softball coach in terms of reaching every postseason level.
If LSU has decided that it will begin to fund softball at the levels of the top 4 or 5 SEC schools, then we could perhaps expect more.
And as another poster points out, getting rid of Beth only makes sense if you think you can get a guaranteed upgrade. Who do you think LSU can realistically hire that is a guaranteed upgrade?
Beth will be here through her contract. I think they will reevaluate then.

Stick to whether or not you feel you can upgrade or not. The end.
This is the answer. The market will dictate the decision. We have a lot going on with the big 3 men's teams that her keeping them in the top 25 is fine for now and she can be put on the back burner

Torina is the # 5 salary in the country.
She produces # 16 team in America.
Sadly, softball supporters don’t expect better. So, cut her salary and pay her what she is worth. Let’s not overpay her. The money could be used to pay for sports we do expect better.

Im not, wish I were so I could have more influence lol, I am in the restaurant business and I would bet you have eaten here. Do ppl that shall go nameless eat here, yes they do as has most of the football coaches and baseball coaches. Ppl drink and they talk.
Posted on 5/25/26 at 8:10 pm to Casualobserver1985
Well if your in the restaurant business......do you ever worry about sexual harassment complaints from work force or mgt?
Posted on 5/25/26 at 8:15 pm to Mark Griggs
Firing offense!! protect the business first is my directive to every manager and employee
Posted on 5/25/26 at 11:25 pm to Casualobserver1985
Well atleast we agree on that.
Now if a supervisor new it was going on and did nothing about it, and actually help the person doing the harassment find another job and praise this person, how would you feel about that
