I'm certain most other conferences have already made overtures to LSU...

...either directly or back door.
Which conference would be the best fit? Or should the Tigers go the independent route? Or is creating a new conference the best path.
Just playing a bit of whimsy here. A new conference of other disgruntled and good fit schools could be fun. First advantage I'm seeing is getting away from a Bama or Texas centric league. Another is getting back to a better sized league again, i.e. maybe 12 schools.
Eastern Division:
Florida
Florida State
NC State
Virginia Tech
Georgia
Tennessee
Western Division:
Auburn
Kentucky
LSU
8&4
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
How long would it take for the SEC to close shop?

I wish we could go back to 12 SEC schools, and, for that matter, where we were on conferences about 25-30 years ago. These conferences are getting too big and losing their regional feel. There should be a PAC10 still as well.

Yes, I enjoyed the smaller regional conferences, with the rivalries that develop and getting to see EVERY school on a rotational basis.

Every school? Every divisional school, sure. But we will play every school now at least twice every 4 years and in Tiger Stadium at least once.. That is more than we did with Eastern Division schools by a long shot.
Look at how long it was between Georgia and Tennessee games in Death Valley. Since 2000, LSU has played Georgia 3 times and Tennessee 4 times in Tiger Stadium.
There is a plus and minus to everything.
