I’ll miss JD5s rush ability but with our offensive line potential next year

I think our offense will be nearly as lethal. Defense will be much improved too

Think it will be a heavy run based offense with the experience at OL and RB and a TE oriented passing game, unless by some miracle BTJ returns and one of the Fr make major leaps prior to the season. If a “Jayden Daniels” skill set qb enters the portal be interesting to see if they bring him in to compete or if the reigns all all given over to GN.

How do you assume Nuss will be that good for our offense to be lethal?

What's your evidence? DL loses big time players but secondary should be better

Offense won't be anywhere near this good next year. People don't understand that everything in unison and Daniels being a complete QB from arm to decision making, to running ability to skill and technique, to experience is the literal peak of CFB. Nuss will have growing pains, some very bad games. Williams and Diggs are elite pass blockers for LSU, and both will be gone. The trio of WRs are gone and 2 had a special bonus of blocking great.

Did Daniels improve after starting four years?
One year under the tutelage of our QB Coach and Daniels is a complete QB. He does it all.
Nuss, behind a more experienced OL should be very good. He will have Jackson to hand the ball off and a plethora of talented WRs to work with all off season.
Offense will not be a problem next season.

Good point on the running backs.

Would not be surprised at all if something like this happens.

Big drop off next year. We will be run heavy with a good O line. If they can protect Nuss he can make a few throws, but the production is going way down next year. He will also throw a lot more INT’s which we’ve become spoiled with Daniels protecting the ball.

The defense will have to be stout for us to compete next year for the West.

Name that Guy!
I watched the last Heisman trophy winner play vs a good defense, for the first time this season. Had 2-3 interceptions in the first half.
It took Daniels a year +, in the system, to develop into the QB we have now. Where are you going to find another who can step on campus and play like Daniels is playing.

To me the biggest question mark will be the WRs.

We have talent there, but need a few to step up...

If the offense regresses at all next season it will be because of conservative play calling. Nussmeier can make every throw and then some, plus he’s more mobile than the naysayers want to give him credit for. That said, LSU will likely lose QB recruits if Kelly does go the transfer route for a starting QB next year. That sends the message to potential recruits that they’ll only be developing for backup roles.

His performance vs Georgia last season.
He hadn't practiced much with the first team offense all season, but performed well in the game, vs best defense in the NCAA.
In addition Brian Kelly has stated numerous times, he is a second starter.

I think NUss will be a better QB if they can get him to run some? His legs are plenty good and he is quick but generally keeps trying to look down the field instead of taking the positive yards he can get with his legs.

We will be able to play smash mouth football with #28 running behind that line. When defenses load the box, Nuss will throw over the top.

The thing that Nussmeier has to an extraordinary degree is that ability to extend passing plays beyond the original play design.
If there's good rapport with receivers on playing outside of the original play structure, that can result in explosive plays even when the defense beats protection.
And yeah, a more experienced version of the OL, so the makings of another prodigious offense are there.

Yeah, lots will be gone but lots will be developing and joining. That's college football.

We will return a monstrous offensive line. If Dellinger comes back (he is our best offensive lineman, imo) we will surely have the best line in the country.

Nuss has to develop the decision making prowess that Daniels exhibits. It's a lot easier behind a great offensive line. Nuss has quick feet, which should make him very effective on read options, although we will lose the big QB plays.

The receivers will almost certainly be very good.
