Noted. I'll bookmark to see what happens anyway. MAYBE Eric will have a TWEET SOON with a red siren and GOOD NEWS for us.

She had to show a birth certificate to prove she was correct age when she was grandfathered citizenship, I would think

Statute of limitations. She lied about her age but there is nothing we can do about it now. You know who.
Google AI says

IF ilhan omar lied about her age to get citizenship, do statute of limitations apply?
Whether a statute of limitations applies to potential lies or age misrepresentations on immigration paperwork depends on whether the government pursues a civil or a criminal case: [1, 2]
Civil Denaturalization (No Statute of Limitations): If the federal government files a civil action in federal district court under 8 U.S.C. § 1451 to revoke or strip naturalized citizenship (denaturalization) due to illegal procurement, concealment, or material misrepresentation, there is no statute of limitations. The government can bring a civil proceeding decades after the citizenship was granted, provided it proves the case with "clear, convincing, and unequivocal evidence" that the lie was material to the decision. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Criminal Prosecution (10-Year Statute of Limitations): If the government instead pursues criminal charges (such as naturalization fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1425) to penalize or criminally convict an individual, those charges are subject to a 10-year statute of limitations. [1, 2]

I think it is unlikely she had, or was required to, produce a birth certificate. The reason being is because by the time she immigrated here Somalia's government had collapsed. Her family was processed through a Kenyan camp before immigrating here and birthdates were often recorded as whatever the child's family said they were. This would explain why there is confusion over this to begin with.
quote:
According to her own account and the standard biographical reporting. She was born in Mogadishu, fled the Somali civil war with her family, and spent four years in a Kenyan refugee camp before arriving in the United States in March 1995. That summary comes from an AI-generated fact-check aggregator, which says the details are repeated in her office materials and mainstream profiles. I’d treat it as a pointer, but it matches how her story is generally told, and I didn’t see anyone in these results disputing the camp part.
That camp stay is also why her age gets complicated. Birth dates for refugees processed in that setting often came from family statements rather than official civil records, so it’s a plausible source of the kind of discrepancy critics point to. I can’t say whether such a discrepancy exists in her case.
