It looks like a bunch of the models have it going north into Florida, and Jeff Masters seems to agree with that in his latest blog. Don't want it to hit anyone, but we really need a break.

- Well, obviously you prepare for the worst (I went to school for Disaster Science and Management), but it's nice to see models going somewhere else. With Gustav, the models were pretty consistent with it hitting us.

If by "a bunch of the models" you mean 3 out of 6.

The high pressure ridge will have the storm making impact no further east then the western FL panhandle.

FYI, the Weather Channel does not make their own proections. They only show what they get from the NHC.

We have not been allowed to return to base in Belle Chasse yet because there still is no power.

Although I only temporarily live in Louisiana being stationed here, I REALLY hope it does not hit NOLA or BR. This is a great state, with great people, and they dont deserve this crap again....plus I live here now too. Damn you to hell Ike, you bitch arse slut.
