As a lifelong Pirates fan, I’ve been all-in on Crews all year. He’s generational talent.
However, I am beginning to warm to the idea of Skenes. I won’t be disappointed either way.

MLB clubs aren't asking starters to go 8 innings anymore.
Compare a guy who pitched 5-6 innings every 5 days to an every day player.
And we’re talking whether he is the most valuable player in the draft not whether he’ll be successful.
He’s going to be a good pitcher but to do what he does he throws a lot of pitches an innings.

Skenes. I like Crews, I’m appreciative of what he’s been able to do for our program and I’ll always be a Crews fan. But If I’m the pirates, I’m going Skenes.

Skenes by far. Crews is overrated

Nobody knows how far Skenes can go(including you), but he has shown zero to little signs of struggling when he has been taken out of games.

Just seems like a big, sturdy, durable dude like Gerrit Cole.
It's the Pirates. Whoever they draft they letting walk after 6 years anyway.
The answer is Crews though. He'll be .285 and 25 HRs automatic for 10+ years. Not to mention a strong OBP. He's a natural lineup #2 hole hitter.
