Based on what we've seen from the defense so far this season, I think the case could be made that LSU's chances of beating Bama are better than the odds of beating TAMU.
Still a lot of season to play, but I think that's how it stands right now.

Well going in I knew half our fan base is fricking retarded. 35 down votes in the OP compared to 31 up votes. I guess it's slightly more than half but yea it went about the way I thought it would.

The first two reasons you listed to pull for bama are good enough for me.

Me, I want the Tigers to be the one to dethrone them, not somebody else. If A&M can beat them, then our victory won't mean as much in comparison. It'd be like the Falcons bragging that they finally figured out the Saints, last year... when Sean Payton wasn't around. We all saw how much that mattered.

How do you expect us to pass those teams and get into the big game? Do you honestly think beating A&M ranked around 3rd will carry the same weight?
Oh, and as for your part about "if we don't beat them"- if we lose, then no, I really don't care. I don't base my fandom on hating Alabama (or Ole Miss, or Tulane, or anybody else), I base it on loving LSU. If we don't win it all, then sure, keep it in the SEC. I don't have a problem with that.
Tell me- did you root against Fla and Auburn when they played for the BCS, too?

We need to take care of buisiness and this season will be fine. However...long term, our recruiting will be hurt by a strong A&M. Bama is going to get theirs...we do not need extra competition in Texas.
On a personal level...I hate Bama, but A&M makes me sick. Everything about A&M is gross, but mostly I hate their undeserved arrogance. They are so cocky, and for no good reason... I am disgusted by them.

I don't care who Bama plays I want them to lose. Wanting Bama as a fan of another team in the SEC is just stupid. They are our main competition in recruiting. Atm will just be a flash in the pan.
