That helichopter idea made me remember something funny from my collegiate days. I was headed to a library on campus, and a guy who was speaking at a semminar I was going to had flown in and landed his chopper on the grass field next to said library. Well I was coming from the same direction , and the wind from the chopper was blowing my hair crazily, and I was fixing it on account of two good looking young women approaching me. So I tell them hello, and they ask if that was my helichopter in European accents, so I replied as I passed them,"Oh, the chopper? Yep, and it's a bitch finding a parking space for it."

Should you expect anything in return?

This is what I hate so much about Louisiana. GIVING something to a University should not expect something in return.

BTW, a $25 Million donation to LSU Foundation will net you a substantial amount of TAF points as well.

No. And hell no, too. Why should I subsidize Louisiana's government?

And you got 3 of your kids a college education.

Why are people acting like college tuition is a donation to the University?

Sure.

I would put a few million into a trust fund for LSU + Louisiana College of Ag and Mining. I would require that it be kept in the fund until such time as the ocean rises up so much
that LSU + Louisiana College of A&M has to be moved north due to the rising of the ocean, or 200 years, whichever happens first.

My 3 billion dollar trust fund would pay to move LSU to Winnfield if needed, otherwise, it could be spent as the president and deans see fit.

Sounds like a made up story but if that really happened its kinda cool, not that anyone would be believe it, but cool.

If I were a billionaire that had a constant flow of money, i'd donate a few million to TAF and I'd give however much was needed to start a film school, complete with scholarships for particularly gifted students, camera, electric, grip epuipment, and hopefully some legit professors. I'd actually hope Rick Blackwood would be willing to head the department.

I would buy as much land as I could outside the south gates and donate it to the university to expand the tech development area LSU has been building down there around Campus Lake.

Seriously, have you seen LSU's southeast boundary? Ideally, that would be straightened out to run together with the way the southwest boundary runs at Brightside.

Throw in a statue of Les Miles and Mike's offspring and I'd go 30 mil.

I'd donate 25 million or so to my particular college within the university for general funding, and setup some type of 5 million dollar scholarship fund to bring in priority candidates so my program increases in rankings

I'd endow million dollar chairs in History and Political Science. I would want Ivy quality scholars in those chairs. Put up a good chunk of money to redo Middleton, CEBA, and the Fieldhouse. Increase our research endowment for the hard sciences (because that's what separates great Universities from average ones).

I'd ask for architectural input on new buildings constructed with my money, to make sure they maintain the Italian Renaissance feel rather than enormous bamboo rotundas of bullshite (looking at you, new EJ Ourso building).

I'd bribe the Athletic Department to get rid of Toonces.
